I would also like to take the moment to eat crow for underestimating the brits in this momentous day. All fellow gamers of the United Kingdom have something to be proud of today, despite all the shit around them. I certainly didn't see the Brits making this much of a fuss... not in a thousand years - despite the obvious Sony lobbying connection which I thought although daring, was insufficient to move the needle. The Britts were the first I dismissed outright.

Now it intrigues me to dig into potential lobbying on the Britts since MS clearly failed. There is always an invisible hand - like it or not. Bezos is big in the states and recent spats with MS have been nasty and rowdy but the UK? Not a peep. Who else for the "cloud'?

I'm genuinely surprised by the decision. After the last month of news I was sure the CMA would approve. Glad to see I was wrong.

Same, and I screwed myself because I promised 1 month with Phil Spencer as my avatar if the deal dropped. Now I have that incompetent douche representing my name.

This could maybe be the end of the Xbox brand guys. This a fatal shot against Microsoft today. Proud of CMA not losing their composure.
It’s a good sign that the biggest companies can’t becoming bigger so easily. Corruption lost!

Not if investors vote against. The cut off date is the 28th of July if memory serves me right, and any extensions have to go through shareholder approval. Considering Xboxs tanking sales and Activision's leadership, I seriously doubt shareholders on both ends will approve the extension.
the deal also went to court in America and was blocked in UK.(pending EU)

anyone believes that shareholders going to be optimist and put their money on that?
