Same here. Those freaks have become insufferable. The gaf thread is still good - they dunk on Xbots as they pop up, although there are some uppity little shits there, too, like darkmage and in cold blood. I'll go back to Reee once the deal is blocked and I can lap up their tears while basking in the sonorous sound of their demented wailing.
Probably this dude. I'm kidding, but this is the first person on Twitter I've seen using "those" talking points profusely. I've been having a back-and-forth with them the past couple days; they insist Sony are bribing and paying off Japanese retailers to not promote Xbox. Among other stupid stuff that is easily debunkable.
They also blame Sony for the "fall" of the Japanese 3P market and Japanese companies needing to focus on Xbox & PC in the West so I guess, in a way, they're actually arguing for PS2-era Sony without realizing they are? Because they are so blinded by hatred for PlayStation and push FUD conspiracy theories, they can't see their own irony.
The amazing part of their insipidity is that on one hand they say regulators shouldn't be "protecting the interests of the market leader" (even though regulators are in fact NOT doing that), yet think the Japanese government should force parity and equity in their video game market because Microsoft has failed horribly at appealing to the gaming audience there for the better part of 20+ years.
And the one time they made any decent gains, with the 360, Microsoft themselves nullified into the negatives with the XBO due to them treating Japan like a complete afterthought. But no, it's Sony somehow needing to pay off Japanese 3P devs to not support a console brand that naturally has sold poorly in that region for two decades, and it's Japan's responsibility to throw a bib and big boy chair at Microsoft so they can artificially compete in the market instead of actually earning their keep in the region.
These people are absolute brainlets.
It looks like their general thread traffic is decreasing, too. Not hard to see why; any thread that even mentions something about PlayStation turns into a pissing context of FUD, bad faith arguments, and general negativity towards the brand. Considering there are a lot of gamers out there with PlayStations, they don't want to keep seeing the same BS play out in threads where PlayStation is brought up. They'll catch on and just get their gaming news elsewhere.
It would be glorious is Reset's traffic drops off the cliff after this deal is done (particularly if it doesn't result in acquisition) and the current group that owns them is forced to sell them for scraps. Doubt there would be any takers. Although I've been mildly curious if there's any incentives coming from their current owners to push the narratives they have been doing these days. Might be time for a little investigation.

The funny thing is that despite the bias ree seems to have, the PlayStation ot still has double the posts the Xbox ot has.
The PlayStation ot has the same community of users who hardly post on most threads
I didn't dig that deep into it to be honest. I just saw the amount of posts and users was considerably more. Wouldn't blame those users for not wanting to post much. Resetera is a toxic hellhole.
Re will remain very influential though. It is the go-to site for many 'journalists' all over the world for news. Not just the front page, even comments from users get checked for any potential news by desperate sites.

With the latest developments of 'blame Sony' from MS, it makes me wonder if they've received some bad news. We know they (and ABK) were recently ordered to provide documents to the FTC that they'd been trying very hard not to. Possibly there is more going on that we're not yet aware of, though, since bringing Japan and their paid politician into it just come across as desperation moves.
I suspect that a lot of the PR bs that MS brought into this has been not only to influence the public and regulators, but also to set up narratives to absolve themselves of responsibility - for their failure to compete effectively and the resultant decreasing market and mind share is readily apparent, of course. But perhaps it's also about setting up narratives for when the deal is blocked or when MS walks away from it. I may be reading too much into it, but these latest shots at Sony are just so baseless and unsound. I can see an extreme fan buying it, but not many others - including MS.

All the PS fans hide in that thread. It is the best source of info about any PS news but there is a weird vibe because it's still Era.

Every somewhat positive playstation or anything relating to the platform on era turns into absolute shit within a few post.
