One of the nice things about the cma blocking the deal was it significantly toned down all the insane Xbox fanboy. Most of them went into hiding.

From what I understand, the Eu agreed with the same findings of the CMA in regards to the console side of the purchase, while also agreeing that ABK would cause major issues on the cloud side.

FWIW I want the deal to go through. At first I was against it because of the harm it would do the industry, but upon reflection I realised I hate the current state of the industry, so yeah, destroy it, break it, burn it to the ground.

Not surprised with our shity EU. Whole countries re being bought let alone some politicians. They want ms to compete, just lol.
They can:
Pay AB few B and put all cod games on GP. If they want more subs and grow and actually care about users.

They can make timed exclusive with any1 on planet. Pubs dont want xbox exclusivity cause it ll destroy ip like what happened with tomb raider. Its their problem.

The EU has a LONG history of approving deals with behavioural remedies that are clearly going to be violated, just to collect the fines. They do a shit job of actually protecting competition and consumers.

Were their findings different to that of the CMA? Because the CMA found no issue with the console side. The EU have (from what i can gather) allowed the cloud side of the deal to go through but with pretty strict concessions, ie, no ABK game can be exclusive to Microsoft's service, which means all streamed ABK games must remain 3rd party.
Of course the Xbox fanboys are in all the comments on twitter with the clown emojis and clown gifs for the CMA.... saying Sarah Cardell should be 'fired for incompetence'....

Any non-desperate company would have already given up on this deal but the MS gaming division depends entirely on this one play of buying ABK. ABK should take their $3B and walk away from this mess.
They have to pay for everything, their fanbase is an army of astroturfers, rewards grinders and promo abusers. Everything surrounding the Xbox brand is unauthentic.
They agreed that the cloud market was a concern, but they thought behavioral remedies were sufficient whereas the cma did not. I still need to do some reading on how strict the remedies actually are though. I also need to read up on whether MS are able to do anything sneaky to get past the cma block.
I personally want the deal stopped, because it would give MS the greenlight to continue to buy any and everything they want afterwards until Playstation is starved of content outside of their current first party.

ABK executives want to sell. Make few 100 million dollars and fly. Seems like they are not motivated enough to continue run ABK. My bet is that wither this deal is done or not, ABK is gonna become history.
But if they don't believe the deal is going to pass I doubt they want to go along for the ride. The CMA and FTC seem set on fighting this so this could take a long time, time ABK doesn't have.
