My Opinion: Xbox should buy PlayStation and end the console wars

it really is one of the dumbest things i've ever heard. i won't even entertain it. Microsoft could not afford sony, isn't even allowed legally to obtain them, and is getting handily beat by them in the console space.

'Xbox' especially are a small fry in terms of gaming. they're dead last and their marketshare continues to shrink as we speak. they're going away sooner than later.

The little extra speed of the PS5 SSD isn't needed. 1 or 2 second difference in loading times on a few games? Cool, I guess.
XSX is more powerful overall. That is a fact. Sony almost needed 1 1/2 years to add a half-baked VRR. It's simply not as good as the XSX. At least it's better than the XSS.

The fact that after all the power talk of the fans and Xbox, the console isn't doing or showing anything mindblowing compared to the PS5.

This will never happen. Stop believing fake rumors and deal with reality. Sony will acquire a few more no-name studios for more Live-Service games. Almost all of them will flop and Sony will realize that it's time for them to go 3rd party. They can't compete long-term.

If any company goes third party it's MS, they have never won a generation, even when Sony gave them a huge chance, they came up with RROD. They are one's pushing "our gaming service on any device" schtick, but that's basically a pipe dream. Sony will never allow gamepass or any MS service on their devices fullstop....and gamepass may soon go fullSTOP too. More $1 trials are coming your way especially after PS Premium has launched. Mark it.

Let me give you a head's up. The more MS buys big publishers, the more games coming from them will dwindle in quality. MS has spent billions of dollars in acquiring devs and publishers, yet development of games is in absolute tartars. Phil could not handle a few studios and produce consistent quality from them, you think he will be able to handle all these new devs and publishers he just bought. Some devs will stay, most quality devs will go. Even the Initiative devs are bailing before a first game is even shown. All MS has done is wasted it's money. There is no innovation or a good dev culture and oasis at MS. The more money MS spends, is the worse they will lose....They just don't have a clue.

Like we know Microsoft tried to acquire a couple of times in the past, Japanese developers, they got instant rejected from, Capcom, Square Enix, Bandai, Koei etc. Thank God there a instances like Bloomberg which expose Microsoft’s shabby way of competition. But all they did was going full circle with Halo / Gears / Forza / Kinect and so the brand is still weak today, especially outside of the US... Nobody cares because they haven't made enough great AAA exclusives, it's not rocket science actually... It's all about the games. Quality AAA games, not gamepass filler.

Firstly, they can’t since Playstation is owned by Sony and Sony is a Japanese company.

Secondly, Microsoft is absolutely terrible at managing their own shit. What makes you think they would know how to manage a juggernaut worldwide brand like Playstation? There’s a reason they’ve never beat Sony in all their 21 years in the market. They are extremely clueless and incompetent compared to Sony and Nintendo when it comes to delivering first party games.

They’ve bought Bathesda, Activision and several studios since 2019 and they still launched the Series X|S without games and they are going through 2022 without a single first party AAA game. Total incompetence. They have more studios than Nintendo and Sony and yet Xbox is still dry in 2022, it’s embarrassing.

I’d rather see Playstation become a 3rd party company than MS buy them. Phil and the folks at MS are a joke when it comes to management and I can’t stress this enough. They have no passion for games, for them it’s all about the money and lip-service. They seriously need a shakeup but for whatever reason people worship Phil Spencer instead of calling him out for his incompetence when it comes to delivering quality games to his platform in a timely manner.

If you wanna see how bad MS is at managing their IPs and studios, just look at Halo Infinite and 343. I don’t need to explain how much of a shitshow Halo Infinite has been since before launch and even after launch.

There is good moderation on this forum, the mods are extremely tolerant, but if someone continues to bait with ridiculous threads with the purpose of trolling, regardless of whether they are a sony or xbox fan, he/she is going to get a warning, if they persist down this road they will get banned.

No amount of threatening with I am going to quit bla bla is going to change that.

Posters need to meet the moderation team halfway, this site is not the wild west.
