i think that might be best, i try to avoid him as much as possible, he's always angry.
He should see him on discord, always threatening to ban people, doxxing them, and just flat out deleting their shit.

Agreed, I think it makes less sense for persons to engage in "this thread is bad, close it etc" as opposed to discussing the topic at hand. Persons can always abstain from the topic if it grates them. I personally have never cowered or run away from an opinion. I want to hear all opinions from users. No one is protecting Sony or MS or living in a Kumbaya bubble. It's not life and death, it just discussion about games and the industry...
You are one of us no matter what platform you are in, same to all xbox lovers. Here we don't protect platforms/corporates, we only protect people and have them respected. So as long as no insults between members, I think people should have freedom of expressing their opinions in gaming. So shit as much as you like as long as it's your genuine opinion.

How can you tell if it's his genuine opinion tho?
On gaf they seem to assume I'm trolling when I criticize Xbox, but it's my honest opinion, I would love to see some value there but I think Xbox is offensively subpar and Phil Spencer is a con artist. As soon as I stop policing myself and I'm actually honest, calling out Xbox fan cynicism I get banned. Everybody knows that there isn't anyone that is honestly excited about Peppa Pig being included on gamepass or that think Pentinent/Dusk Falls are a good lineup or that Starfield looked visually impressive, etc.
Maybe it's because I don't relate at all but people that only praise Xbox are awfully suspicious for me. Who could honestly be satisfied with what Xbox has being delivering over the years? Is it some sort of stockholm syndrome or are they getting paid? Like, I clearly like Sony consoles and games but even I have more criticism than compliments and if given the chance I'd put Jimbo in a orbit towards the sun.

I believe the maximum thing you would expect from @Darth Vader when someone seems to be obviously trolling and derailing would be a thread ban, but even that should be the very last action after a mod intervening to set the conversation on track. People might be still holding some grudges from other forums but eventually they'll realize that all of us are welcome here as long as we respect each other. No platform, corporate, or gaming figure is sacred here, but let's express our genuine opinions, my beloved friends.
Nah. If history has shown us anything, it's that all three of these companies are complete trash if they get too much dominance. They all need to exist to keep one another in check.
The difference being that Xbox is already trash without ever getting any dominance. Their contribution to gaming is the paywall for basic features, paid online, microtransactions and all sorts of deranged practices.

and complete and utter disregard for consumer rights, attacking and denigrating physical games ownership, trying to move the entire industry to a PC-centric model (Because they'll inevitably gain more control due to Windows) and producing nothing of value for nearly a decade now, internally.
They exist as a thorn in everyone else's side simply buying up publishers so others who enjoyed those games on competitor's platforms can't play their games anymore, or they do useless timed deals to annoy specific niche fanbases like with pointless 6-month indie game deals (SCORN, The Medium, Stalker 3, etc) or pay to delay the PS5 version of Yakuza 7 by 6 months.
Then they have the nerve to peddle the "when we all play we all win" nonsense when it favours them and their inability to get or keep meaningful exclusives.
We just saw the Gamepass twitter attack AAA gaming and try to shame someone for asking for a real damned game on Xbox.
Even the 'fans' are starting to figure it out. MS and by extension XBox, are toxic for the industry.

To be fair, they're not the only ones doing timed deals, and their competition does the same. In any entertainment industry, content is king and exclusive content, even timed, differentiates a product/platform.

that would be all fine and well if they didn't turn around and attack exclusive games, namecall people as 'gatekeepers', and hand-deliver everything to PC, including giving PC exclusives that their console players, who are starving for content, don't even get.
it's nothing but mixed messaging from them and that only adds to why they're so hated. they've been caught lying so many times and now even the average casual gamer has caught on. They have a reputation as being dishonest.
it's no suprise they aren't popular on message boards or enthusiast forums, infact it's very deserved. the victim complex needs to actually be challenged once in a while. It isn't media bias or unfair treatment. they just do and produce things not many people like.
