TBF, Netflix seem to be trying to turn things around. They're getting rid of unsuccessful programming, and trying to turn to content for profitability. But then, they're raising sub prices and probably have too many shows with too little quality control, not to mention they have a bad habit of dumping all episodes at once (hurts long-term mindshare and online discussion).

Netflix shot themselves in the foot the moment they started cancelling shows with cliffhangers, shows that people enjoyed. Their increase in prices + new tier with ads + hypothetical move of having movies in the cinema before releasing on the service are just the death blow.

So, there's a chance?

MS buys struggling publishers and developers

A chance of what, Microsoft buying them? Absolutely. And they will likely run it to the ground.

I think the idea was right next to Netflix in app is the Xbox symbol. They want access to all those subscribers for streaming game pass.Remember Netflix is getting into games.

Microsoft clearly wants to focus on their Xbox Game Pass. If they bought Netflix (which i doubt they would be able to due to anti trus tlaws after Act/Blizz purchase) it wont be gaming related, as Microsft already has Azure and xCloud.

Cool let then get bogged down by that acquisition and opposition from Disney, HBO etc.

Sony can meanwhile gobble up some more devs and publishers

If they buy it will be a huge move.
Netflix is a household name. The biggest subscription service right? MS has money to burn for another 2 decades, it will just stregnthen there subscription model whether anyone likes it or not.

Not saying MS will do anything good with it, they’ve messed up so many purchases.
But MS has the money to keep it alive, make some investments and add it to Gamepass, which will be another boost for them.
Netflix is as commercial as it gets, TikTok, Instagram, Netflix. MS owning them, Just like owning Minecraft is a big move for their future plan.

And yes I hate all these IP’s and companies getting eaten up by bigger companies that can’t do things themselves. MS just has lots of money and is probably owned and used by the big government

MS loves to buy former glories in bad shape and to do weird twists to get PR quotes that sound well even if they are not meaningful, or to do desperate moves that are a financial suicide to beg for new GP subs. I could see this happening.

Maybe they crapped in their pants with the new PS+ and saw MS can't compete with them in terms of amount of subs, revenue or profit. So once Sony will start showing their new PS+ numbers it would sound stupid to claim 'GP is the Netflix of videogames'. The only way it would make sense to say it would be purchasing Netflix for $100B or more and integrate it with GP.

Once acquired, if Netflix metrics continue going down and losing market share they'll simply stop sharing these metrics and will replace them with other ones that even doesn't mean a shit for their investors will make them look good. Maybe instead of mentioning revenue, profits, subs they'll mention diversity quotas or something like that.

Activision made more profit than the entirety of Playstation last year. Every company hopes to struggle like that.
Do you play profits? I play games and Activision Blizzard is strugling as far as puting out quality games. Who knows for how long CoD will be the cash cow it is now that they are transitioning to Warzone 2 and that each game is selling less than the one before?

They have interest in it's userbase. It's worth a lot more than streaming. It's actually something I see them doing in a not so distant future, they need that userbase to push Gamepass.
Soon you guys are going to come up with some explanation of how Office and Windows are actually ways MS found to try to push Gamepass on people.

Why does MS have to push this product so hard? Aren't people liking it?
