Yuh PS is a wrap if this is true. Nintendo blurring the lines in power getting more of not all 3rd party while PS has no exclusive w poor first party output.
Nintendo is double downing on there first party output while getting more 3rd party. Nintendo bought a port studio not to port Nintendo games to competing platform/storefront but to bolster Nintendo hardware & storefront while PS bought port studio to diminish it. Nintendo is smart by using there port studio to bolster its lineup by making more 3rd party day n date of release within the first year.
Say bye bye to Final Fantasy, Persona, Yakuza, Monster Hunter & essentially any major 3rd party game that wouldn’t released on Nintendo & only release on PS. As if it wasn’t more clear Nintendo will only become a great direct competitor as if they wasn’t a Switch 2 even PS will have trouble getting Asia base exclusivity deal if Nintendo Switch 2 is anywhere near PS4 considering Nintendo dominance & portability aspect in Asia.
Sony took to long to consolidate & secure there future while MS/Xbox has done that since 2020 & they’ll likely continue consolidating as owning the publisher, studio & ip becomes more important for future security, competing ability & expansion.
I can see Nintendo sign deals to make games using 3rd party franchise close to PS as Nintendo continues to show developers that they can be successful by only releasing on Nintendo. I can even see Nintendo sign a deal w MS to get a Banjo game made exclusively to Nintendo & possibly other platformer ip like Crash & Spyro
