We already got a leaked Helldivers trailer and we saw that Kojima was editing a trailer for something, neither of which showed up today.

Well, let's hope so. That Gamescom show was awful. Even the very few things that were decent (Lies of P, Winds Will Tell, new DualSense controller) weren't anything too exciting because one's just a controller (I don't care for Elite-style controllers tbh) and the other two we've already seen a few times prior.

This and summer games fest really just proves to me that sony is just on another level. I couldnt get super excited about anything shown here

All the shows this year have been pretty much ass so far.
They can redeem things. They can push the hype through the roof if they have the right games and pace.

The Sony showcase in June was definitely the best of the summer. We need more like that.

If Lies of P hadn't been known of earlier that would've been a good surprise but a lot of what was here didn't feel like "main show" material. Some could've even been served just fine as blog announcements with a video trailer.
Also way too much CG. Again.
The PS June State of Play was pretty good even if some of the games shown were revealed earlier like SFVI. But for me it was definitely FF XVI and FF VII Part 2 that were the highlights, the former in particular.
I don't watch the Nintendo Directs that much but I hear those are pretty good for the most part.

Safe bets are Spidey, Wolverine, Horizon VR and Helldivers 2.
Few other 1st party announcements. Maybe PSVR2 price & date.
Bunch of 3rd party shit (FF, RE, Hogwarts, etc).

ONL was between a 6 and 7 for me. The Callisto Protocol, Gotham Knights, Dead Island 2, Lies of P, Scars Above, Dune Awakening, Atlas Falling and Blacktail are either day one for me or at least of interest in seeing more. Wyrdsong is also a game im keeping an eye on. Easily better than Summer Games Fest.
Sony is definitely having a showcase. I still think it's September 15th but September 8th would actually be better for me as I would have the PlayStation Showcase, Marvel Showcase and Ubisoft Forward three days in a row. Either way, it's definitely happening.
I had several games of interest but SGF and ONL isn't Keighley's main even showcase. That will always be The Game Awards so if he has anything major to show, it would always be a TGA announcement.
All the showcases have been between around a 6 or worse. Sony will have a good showcase but I don't think that it will surpass last year's unless you're really into PSVR 2 and/or live service games.
I can see you're against PC announcements but if I was you, I would definitely expect them. I can easily see Helldivers 2 on PC day one and a PC port of Returnal as it's a matter of when, not if.
The June State of Play has definitely been the best showcase of the Summer. But when Sony has a PlayStation Showcase titled event, it's meant to be their main event.
For me, it was FFXVI, FF7R, The Callisto Protocol and REmake4. That State of Play was definitely Sony's best one in my opinion.
PSVR 2, Indies, live service games like Helldivers 2 and others. Gameplay for Spider Man 2. HFW expansion reveal. I also think we could see PixelOpus and Bluepoint next game.
HFW was at ONL last year though. I agree with Spider Man 2, Horizon VR and Helldivers 2 are good bets. I don't think we see Wolverine. Agree with the rest except for Hogwarts Legacy since it was shown at ONL.

I dont think it really matters about hogwarts just being shown, i bet sony will show something about it again, just to keep that association with it until the game awards. They ran a deathloop trailer AFTER having a state of play for it, like that wasn’t even close to as big as Harry Potter.
I think they will show spidey-2, horizon vr, Helldivers 2, maybe a Forspoken story trailer, Valkyrie elysium again, Ragnarok, another first party VR game (gt7, astro), another multiplayer game, whether it’s Firewalk, firesprite, or GG new game.
And for a long shot..i think the new Ghost of Tsushima is going to be logo teased for 2024.
At this point, a PS5 exclusive Spider-Man 2 gameplay footage alone would set the stage on fire.

I think Hogwarts would get shown again at The Game Awards instead of the PlayStation Showcase simply because it would only be a few weeks of time in between shows but we'll see. I'll go with it won't be on the showcase. As for Deathloop, huge difference between having a marketing deal for Hogwarts and paying for a one year timed exclusivity for Deathloop.
Agree with the second part especially with Valkyrie Elysium having a leak about having a demo available soon.
I'm not Tsushima 2 for at least two years. First game just released two years ago, they then released Legends and last year, the Iki Island expansion. If anything, they probably just went into full production for it. I would be surprised f they reveal Tsushima 2 in any way, shape or form this year.
