Well, Xbox is not new in gaming... theyve had decades now to win people over. I had several 360's and I liked the OG Xbox.... but it was PlayStation that won me back.
I can only speak from my own experience but I've met countless other people with similar stories to mine both online and in real life.
I'm not saying everyone on Reset is biased, just a few of the important mods seem to be operating in a manner that has changed the tone of the board and undermined conversation of PlayStation.
Most of the Nintendo people actually left Reset and started Famiboards, so they were not happy either.
I just think a forum with a particular niche is sometimes what people need. Forums are kinda made to fill niches really....
The great thing is that Forums don't cost the world to set up and run, so when the need appears, they can be created and develop quite spontaneously.
XboxEra was also made by Era members to escape mod bias

Quite possibly, their moderation was highly political and varied depending on who you were. Lots of fickle bans.

I ran a small message board with like 50-100 daily users, we talked about sports and games mostly, until some users divert conversation to politics, very annoying honestly.
Also it is just a message boards, so it doesn't have moderating tools. So yea, I just closed it altogether.

That's because Xbox fans need an absolute safe space. They have InstallBase, XboxEra, Dpad and Era.
Era is bigger so they can't control it 100% so to them it's a Sony site. GAF has way too many Xbox fans, it's completely disproportionate, but once again it's not a 100% echo chamber so it's another Sony site.
They don't get along with PS fans at all and they can't handle any criticism.
