I've looked at sony material but as I udnerstand, I can just plop my ps5 ssd with games installed into the pro and for saves+screenshots, I have to transfer this crap via wireless? wit both consoles connected? Like what the hell.

You can use an external SSD or your secondary M.2.
And yes, you have to set the Pro as your primary console.
