Woah, the title and that first tweet are completely wrong.
In many of those games it's not 120FPS, it's 120Hz output.
Many games use the 120Hz output supported through HDMI2.1 to target a 40FPS frame rate. They basically render one new frame every 3 panel refreshes.
40FPS modes are great BTW, they should be the new 30FPS for most games. It's a great middle ground between high quality settings we usually see on 30FPS modes and lower-quality 60FPS modes.

But there are literally over 100 games on PS5 with 120fps support. List is a bit outdated for more than half a year.

Deathloop 120FPS on base PS5? At what resolution? sub 720P - 1080P and bouncing all over the place?
GTA VI will be a true indicator of whether the PS5 Pro is even capable of running such a game in 4K60
60fps maybe, 4k no. DF said that game won't be even at 60fps on Pro few months ago because no CPU upgrade
DF aren't that bright anyway. It would be foolish not to expect 60fps mode even on base PS5.
Yeah I think one of the modes will have 60 FPS and then so is there the whole PSSR thing. But anyway... We'll see what happens in 2025 or 2026 as that's when we can expect the game to get finally released!
