We don't know. It's possible the studio is too small so they didn't plan to make an early access console version but then they got a Game Pass deal.

Temtem was released early access on PS back in 2020 and the full release was in Sept 2022.

Fortnite started exclusive to ps4. Genshin still exclusive etc… this kinda stuff could catch casual interest on Xbox.

However I don’t think they’ll leave PlayStation money on the table for long either…

I never played it but it looks more like a traditional Pokemon game with a solo story mode and battles with MMO features on the side.

It never really took off, never heard much about it.

Yeah it is a little weird. My guess is for some they're just massive Pokeslop fans and resentful a game is grifting off Pokemon's idea. Like I mentioned elsewhere, some people were really upset that Genshin copied from BOTW.
