If you want to play RDR2 on PS5 you still have to do it at 30fps with no resolution bump, even very basic GPUs can run it at 60fps on PC. You have to deal with botched performance on game like Elden Ring and BG3 that you can play at locked 60 with an entry-level GPU on PC.

Sony is betting big on console players just being stupid and lazy, maybe they are right.

You can't do proper PC gaming on a steam deck. Specially with AAA. 9th gen AAA are hanging on for dear life on the deck. If it was a proper alternative to a gaming PC or a console it would have been more popular.

Growth opportunity that has it's limits. From what it sounds like, you want Sony to prioritize PC over their own ecosystem. You overestimate the importance of PC ports. They are only essential for Gaas, a part of the market which sony is only just starting to make plays in

PC has the same problem as traditional box console that are stationary (reason Valve made the Steamdeck which is a PC on the go pushing more mobile is because a PC that can be taken anywhere is better then a PC that can only be played at your home) so if hardware is going mobile PS putting games on PC benefits Valves own “console hardware” PS is putting games on a competitor platform if PS goes day n date on PC they might aswell go & release there games on Xbox, Nintendo & IPhones since going day n date would mean Sony doesn’t care about PS console hardware.

All of these hardware companies will push hybrid handheld as a portable hardware that allows you to play games anywhere is better then the stationary box like traditional console or traditional PC that can only be played at home.

The bulk of PC games aren't AAA or too demanding, the demanding games are the exception.

Plenty of PS4 games were never patched to take advantage of the PS5 hardware, so I wouldn't be surprise if there are many games where even the Steam Deck outperforms the PS5.

The PS5 is a great hardware but Sony never gave a shit about the "smaller details", like going back and patching games. Once they start to lose their differentiation from PC they should have at least bothered catching up to the stuff PC does much better.

PC is the platform that is always evolving, always closing the gap or surpassing consoles. Sony is digging their own grave completely unaware of what they are doing because they can only think in the short term.

The perceived gap between the Switch 2 and PS5 will be a lot smaller than the perceived gap between the Switch and PS4. If they take advantage of DLSS the gap will be even smaller.

There is hardly a game in the market that look way ahead of something like TLoU Pt 2 or RDR2 and some of the best looking and most impressive PS5 games are crossgen.
