It will be nice to binge through all the CoD campaigns I have missed because I don’t buy the games anymore. They also rarely go down enough in price for me to feel good about buying the games solely for a short SP.
Calling it now. New Call of Duty games won't come on Gamepass on day one.
Phil's kinda shooting himself in the foot with his statement when you see why the CMA is looking into the deal more closely.
Yer, i don't see the "Day one" slogan they normally chuck around.
Diablo will be no doubt a massive hit, but I don't think they should put that game on their service day one anyway, they should cash in on the sales, just like Sony is doing with their top exclusives.

I thought the same thing, it seemed tone deaf in light of the CMA's concerns. Maybe this is Microsoft thinking they are being transparent?
Yeah not for several years anyway.
They would be blabbing all about it, even if it would tank sales.
With a price increase shortly after.When the best deal gets better all the time.

The panicked response from microsoft is interesting. Its a full court press from all of the executives and twitter shills to make the CMA look out of touch but in reality the CMA brings up the best points ive seen any regulator bring up so far. I think, even if they pass this deal, this response will slow microsoft down as far as big acquisitions go.

EA, 2K, UBISOFT.
2K/EA being only ones even close to Acti/Blizzard size.
Activision/Blizzard is still larger.
I agree, back catalogue no problem. But the sales the franchise does upon release cannot be ignored.

They’ve spent all this money, there mentality isn’t oh we’re gonna take a hit if we lose sales here ( Playstation, Xbox sales etc ).
They are Investing in Gamepass, spending billions and billions, 10’s of billions more than Playstation or Xbox make on revenue. Its for their vision of the “future”.
They want to take people from other platforms by saying, all the games are gonna be on Gamepass. They are willing to take a loss for along time to eventually say we have everyone on Gamepass ( my opinion on their idea and plan, not saying it will work or not )

Personally, once the acquisition goes through, I see all the old previously released games going into Game Pass. Overwatch 2 is free to play so this doesn't apply. I am expecting Diablo IV to be in Game Pass day one as im expecting it to be released after the acquisition goes through. I don't see COD MW 2 going on Game Pass until after the contracts are completed with Sony.
OW2 is F2P but it has paid single player and co-op I think. I would bet that is included in GamePass, similar to how LoL has all legends free on GamePass.

I'd suggest you to include this in the OP because even they said it many times, some people refuse to think they'll continue to release new CoD games on PS as they do with the Minecraft IP:
I think MS wants to put all the next CoD games day one on GP, but that a potential deal signed with Sony for the next few CoDs may prevent them for doing so for these next few games. In fact, we may see them on PS Plus before seeing them in GP, as happened with Deathloop.
After over a year or a year and a half after launch these games that have a deal with Sony could be released on GP, if they signed a similar deal than the one they had with RE Village.
And then the games released after them, the future CoD games not included in any deal with Sony, would release day one on PS5 and GP. Notice that what Phil said in the article -this time clearly- is that the future releases of CoD games will continue launchin (and also day one) on PS. As they do with Minecraft.
