Hogwarts Legacy narrowly holds onto No.1 for a fourth consecutive week in the UK.

The game's retains the top spot in the physical retail charts despite a 30% drop in sales week-on-week.

Its biggest challenger this week is Metroid Prime Remastered from Nintendo, which misses out on No.1 by just 1,000 units. Metroid Prime Remastered was a surprise digital launch back in early February, and has been available as a download for nearly a month. Even so, this is the fourth biggest physical Metroid game launch of all time, and sales of this boxed version are only 45% lower than what the original managed to do back in 2002.

Metroid Prime Remastered is the second biggest physical release of the year so far, ahead of the Dead Space remake and Fire Emblem Engage.

Also new this week is Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty from Koei Tecmo, which debuts at No.8. 96% of physical retail sales were on PlayStation platforms, although boxed sales of the game are low. We'll have a better idea of its performance once the digital data comes in.

In terms of the rest of the Top Five, FIFA 23 drops to No.3 despite a 6% sales increase, while God of War Ragnarok -- which remains a popular PS5 bundle -- holds No.4 with a 4% sales improvement. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe is still at No.5, and that game also saw a rise in sales of 8%.

Here is the GfK UK Boxed Top Ten for the week ending March 4, 2023:

RankTitle
1Hogwarts Legacy
2Metroid Prime Remastered
3FIFA 23
4God of War: Ragnarok
5Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
6Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe
7Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
8Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
9Minecraft: Switch Edition
10Grand Theft Auto 5

Nioh really turned Team Ninja into a PlayStation-first brand.

Should be very easy for Sony to lock down a hypothetical Dead or Alive 7 or Ninja Gaiden 4.

Team Ninja hasn't really supported xbox since the vanilla NG games on xb/360... nearly 15-20 years ago...

Looks like an uphill battle for MS here. 4% just isn't enough.

96% physical sales on the PS5. I wonder what the ratio of digital sales is between xbox and PS5.

That 96% could be that no xbox owners are interested in physical, or that the vast, vast majority or xbox owners have a Series S (no disc drive) or that most xbox users played it on gamepass and didn't purchase it. Any of those scenarios are bad for gaming.

Where it’s at.
Oh Long Johnson selling on the platform where people buy games and not selling on the platform nobody owns or buys games for is VERY shocking news!

Well, according to xbox zealots sony using their market share position to lock down games is illegal so im not so sure. Obviously companies should have to make games where 4 percent of their sales come from because we need competition. Xbox 3rd party exclusive's dont count.
