Over to you @Sleepy Brown
This must surely warm the cockles of your heart.
Buying a no-name studio to make more Live-Service games. It's sad but that's Sony's strategy right now. They can't compete with Microsoft anymore because they barely have any money, so they are buying no-name studios while Microsoft buys publishers.
I guess Lucid Games will be next for more Destruction AllStars.

I'd take that... if it was really a development of that!

With cars and everything.

Trophy level allows you to buy bigger houses etc.
Absolutely. I'm really loving the talk of innovation they are having around realtime updates and a very advanced engine. I look at what Kojima did with Death Stranding with player engagement and see what Evo wanted to do with driveclub online with clubs etc....Then I remember Home and how great a hub it was to meet friends try games and do so many activities. If they do take that to the next level it will be something really revolutionary. If the ideas I'm thinking are implemented this could really improve the online engagement in all first party games. I can already think of how that can be implemented in other games like Death Stranding 2 and all those GAAS/MP games sony has coming up.

Am I correct in saying that, while they do have a game which is being built around its apparent ease of use, Sony mainly bought Haven for its understanding of cloud tech? They're not necessarily making a cloud game but using the technology for easier development?

It's entirely possible... but I don't remember hearing anything about cloud.

Just that it was a live service / remix type game.

Something along the lines of Minecraft or DQ Builders etc.

I thought it was a skunkworks Ubisoft, because up until recently Ubi were more against being aqquired until MS spaffed 77B all over the place?

You know like the current UK studio has dna of 3 prior ones?
