I really like Death Stranding but it's a hard game to pitch to any publisher, it's impressive Sony went for it even when accounting for Kojima's name.
"A game where you make deliveries in a barren post apocalyptic world, with very little combat, mechanics revolving around balancing your cargo, a bunch of expensive Hollywood actors, full blown AAA production value."
Andrew House was key. He respects Kojima a lot. Kojima said he only explained the game for a couple minutes to him and he said ok. Said that otber companies would have took longer and you would have to explain a whole lot more to them including budget and other things
Time stamped (1:53:33 if it doesn’t work or just open in YouTube)
By the way, watching that made me really miss PSX and E3 stage shows. Sony showed off so many games at these places and the energy was always fun having in person crowds and people talking on stage.
Sigh.
