IGN guy who also has his own channel mostly focused on Xbox...he is also into Destiny a lot. Ironic.

I remember him promoting Destiny 1 a bit and then never paid any attention before. Never knew he focused on Xbox. I knew Ryan McCaffrey on IGN does, but while you can tell his preferred platform he didn’t seem to engage in a lot of console warring.

I thought he was about their only Xbox guy .

You sure about that, bud? Last I checked just about everybody was as of this week tearing Sony a new asshole for the cost of The Last of Us Part 1.

Oh, they're also getting ripped by the forced inclusion of Horizon Forbidden West which jacks up the cost of a PlayStation 5 being it's the only SKU available.

Oh yeah and another thing, they just jacked up the price of their console in basically every market that is not the United States while absolutely no one else is...

I'm just going to say that your situational awareness is a bit askew.

They are mostly Nintendo and Xbox with a few PC guys now.

Destin and Fran had a weekly ign sponsored destiny podcast that just ended like a year ago maybe? Something like 300 episodes. Hell, one of the hosts was a 10+ year IGN veteran and quit to go work for Bungie.

He does his own twitch, content creator stuff for Destiny now and last I heard was attempting to launch a Digital Foundry-like tech dissection thingy for ign or on his own… can’t remember

IGN’s show was pretty decent honestly. Never got any console war talk from him but the internet tells me he’s an Xbot. Okay… I did think he always came off as a bit of a whiner however.

Yeah, Destin wasnt too bad till he started his own show, then I think he realized most of his viewership was Xbox aligned and he pandered more and more.

Fran is / was awesome, I think he was one of the best people IGN ever had.

Unfortunately he has a big platform and chooses to use the power that comes with that irresponsibly, so people end up talking about him.

How else would they have been able to charge $50 for Smash, Mario Kart, W101 etc. all over again and barely lower the MSRP prices several years later?

Sadly he is very much pro-Xbox but to the point of being very toxic towards the PlayStation platform. His response video to Adam Conover over the ABK acquisition is just riddled with cringe fanboy/shill-tier talking points and misinformation.

That pretty much showed me what I needed to see. Again, having a preference is no problem, we all have preferences. But using them to push a negative bias against something outside of that preference is where I personally draw a line.

Fucking nonsense, people are happily paying fir ps5 and Horizon. Stop listening to forums dwellers and xbox fanboys that are always trying to justify why ps5 is doing so well. Horizon with ps5 comes at discounted price. Its $50 instead of $70. Even if you font want Horizon you can still sell it. People are happily posting pics of their ps5 Horizon bundle on social media.
