Sony Group has said that PlayStation Studios are aiming to “consistently and continuously” release hit games. To achieve this, Sony Interactive Entertainment is making an effort to refine its development processes and release schedules.
Announcing its first quarter financial results for FY2024 yesterday, Sony told investors in an earnings call that “the Studio Business Group is strengthening its development schedule management and optimizing development projects in order to consistently and continuously release hit titles.”

Meanwhile, Sony’s Platform Business Group will focus on “maintaining and expanding” the number of active PlayStation users while strengthening user engagement. The goal is to “establish a stable earnings base” as a matter of priority.

When are they going to start announcing the games coming in 2025 and 2026? Or are they going to wait 3 months before release to announce everything now? Only thing we know of coming in 2025 is Death Stranding 2, Fairgames and Wolverine. When is Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, Suckerpunch, Santa Monica, Bend, Firesprite games, Hoursemarque and everything else going to be announced?. The last sop was a pile of shit, worst than the January one we had

They released a big hit few months ago after some months of other big hit 🤷‍♂️
And probably will strike another big hit next month.
The vast majority of their studios haven't done any new major projects. Remasters aren't it. Other than Insomniac and Santa Monica, we've seen nothing. Naughty Dog made a remaster and released an update for TLOU2. That's in 4 years. Bend, BluePoint, Housemarque, Media Molecule and Sucker Punch have nothing to show after 4/5 years. Not even an announcement trailer.

Come on IconEra, let’s gangbang on PS for doing what everyone was asking them to do.

We criticized Phil for all the talk and no show. We have to do the same for PS.

Oh yeah, that is why PS is at the top. We, the customers, won’t be bullshitted, as demonstrated by the PS3.

Xbox sucks because their fans eat the BS and ask for seconds.

They already had the formula perfected in PS3 era and even in PS4 era..... Like what happened?

Where are the games? At this point in the generation this shouldn't even had to be said! It's the time when we should have started seeing the games dropping like flies...

Like, Jim and Hermen set back the brand by a good 5 - 6 years

1st party single player games for console, 2023 was just Spider-Man 2, 2024 will just be Astro Bot. Not good at all in the 4th year soon to be 5th. Head of PlayStation Studios should've been fired not promoted. ....Hermen Hulst is the biggest failure in SIE history.

I see now why they were ramping up PC ports so much, because they had nothing coming from 1st party studios. 13 PC ports before we finally got a 1st party single player game release. Disgraceful.

Miles Morales, Rift Apart, Horizon Forbidden West, God of War Ragnarok, Spider Man 2, Rise of the Ronin, Stellar Blade and Astro Bot in a month. I'm averaging two published games from Sony a year this generation. I'm definitely one of the few PlayStation fans (here at least) that haven't had any problems or issues with Sony, PlayStation 5 or their games and content. Just need a long term roadmap which should come in September and it's perfect for me.

Because games are taking much longer to make compared to the PS3 and PS4 era. No offense, but are you dumb, or do you just not listen? How many times people are going to have to tell ya’ll that games are taking longer to make. Even Nintendo is now warning of long dev times.

Look at the PlayStation store page on Steam. The 13 games is over a four year span which started with Horizon Zero Dawn in August 2020. Sony released Miles Morales three months later. This is such an exaggeration that it's not even funny.

Wow you really thought you were revealing brand new information stating games are taking longer to make lol... Again Like I said they perfected the formula those two generations. I dunno why you are telling me about dev time lol. The reason is simply they attempted to pivot into GaaS without a real plan. They had Single Player studios taking on projects they shouldn't have.

Instead of allowing studios to properly expand like they claimed they would, they went out and bought GaaS studios and then years later killed some of those projects forcing studios to now start from scratch while also losing head counts with layoffs all across the board.

Almost everything they are doing now isn't for the PS5 generation, it's for PS6 / PC, as they have pretty much thrown in the towel on half this generation

Get out of here, no one is exaggerating....

All the games released so far this gen were announced in 2020, it's now 2024.....

Since 2021 Sony has announced 1 (ONE) new single player game and that's Astro Bot which was just recently.

And since 2021, they've ported THIRTEEN games to PC 🤡 Do your research before saying someone is exaggerating. 13 PC ports in the time frame it took to get ONE new single player game announced, I'm 100% right.

May 2021- Days Gone
Jan 2022 - God of War
August 2022 - Spider-Man
October 2022 - Uncharted 4
October 2022 - Uncharted Lost Legacy
October 2022 - Sackboy
November 2022 - Spider-Man Miles Morales
February 2023 - Returnal
March 2023 - TLOU 1 Remake
July 2023 - Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
March 2024 - Horizon Forbidden West
May 2024 - Ghost of Tsushima
September 2024 - God of War Ragnarok

They clearly ramped up PC ports to make up for the lack of actual new 1st party games. Two back to back years with only 1 game.
