How is everyone feeling?
What will PlayStation do?
Will they have a big showcase? What games will they show?

Damn, that's just sad of they let it pass without an event.Grubb says it isn't happening and I believe him.
Game Awards are less than ten days after and draw a bigger crowd. And December is just a terrible time for announcements, much better for actively selling stuff that is already out.Damn, that's just sad of they let it pass without an event.
Is that really the state of things?
Highly doubt that Sony will do an event or anything like that when The Game Awards is on December 12th and gets a far bigger audience for Sony to showcase their games. If I had to guess, I would say a new Death Stranding 2 trailer could be at The Game Awards.
The Game Awards 2023 has 10 million views on YT.
The 2023 PS showcase has 5 million views on YT.
At first glance you might think you're right, but let me tell you why I disagree.
First, you have a dedicated viewerbase that is much more likely to buy your games with a PS Showcase. Everyone is there specifically for your games.
Second, PS Showcases usually get streamed by multiple channels and streams. Add the PS Showcase with English Subtitles +1.2 million, add the ign stream +1.2 million, Gamespot highlight reel 430K, Gamespot full presentation 338K, and various other live streamers.
So I don't think it's as clear cut as that.
I also think they'd be missing a clear opportunity to market the Playstation brand when they don't have a big holiday title to on release.
The Game Awards 2023 had over 118m viewers across all the live streams and platforms. It's simply the biggest audience which is far superior than that of a PlayStation Showcase because as you mentioned, it's a dedicated viewer base which is great and all but that's not going to help you grow your platform and eco-system. Marketing and advertising to the same viewer base that you already have isn't going to help increase sales, player counts or get new consumers into their eco-system. Marketing and advertising your products on what is more of a casual show would be of far greater benefit to Sony.
I mentioned weeks ago when people were mad that Microsoft had the marketing deal for Metaphor but realistically, that's where Sega, Square Enix, etc. should be marketing and advertising their games because they already have their dedicated fans on PlayStation who will be there regardless. It will always make more business sense to market and advertise your games to those who you don't already have because you want to grow your platform or in the case of Square Enix, Sega, etc., you want to grow the IP's.
On a side note, I don't really see Sony celebrating their 30th Anniversary until next September simply because they're bigger in North America than they are in Japan so a massive showcase next September is much more likely than a week before The Game Awards.

I can make a poll... Here or new thread?Nothing will happen. If there's a showcase it will be a reel of games from the past, none of which will have sequels or remakes.
Chances are people will walk away confused and slightly annoyed at Sony.
@Bryank75 can we get a public poll to see who was alive and gaming 30 years ago? It would help to see why some people believe this gen is the best Sony generation.
Maybe new.I can make a poll... Here or new thread?
