Anyone have December sales for 2021? I think 2020 was something like 4 million, right?

And they gave the 25 million statement in...November, right? November 1st from what I'm finding.

Some numbers for the PS5

FY20
Q3 - 4.5M
Q4 - 3.3M
Total - 7.8M

FY21
Q1 - 2.3M
Q2 - 3.3M
Q3 - 3.9M
Q4 - 2.0M
Total - 11.5M

FY22
Q1 - 2.4M
Q2 - 3.3M
Total - 5.7M

So in FY22 Q3 they sold at least 5M units. It was the best quarter so far.

IIRC 25 million were claimed shipped as of September, but sold-through 25 million was reached by end of October. At least I think so, because the Google results for the 25 million figure seem dated November 1st.

So it seems like they may've actually sold at least a little over 5 million between November and December alone. That's pretty crazy TBH. They still have 7.3 million to sell though to reach their LTD target by the end of the fiscal year. Considering the amount they sold in just Nov & December, I think they can manage 7.3 million in a 3-month span now, actually.

I don't think they ever gave monthly figures, only quarterly.

I'm surprised the q2 numbers are so low, iirc ps5 stock issues started improving drastically in july-august which is in the middle of q2. Q3 ends December, wouldn't be surprised if they sold at least 6m units by the end of q3 since i think they need to ship 6m units in q3 and q4 to meet their goal of 18+m units by the end of FY 2023.

That is lower than what I was expecting If it is close to 30 million.

I expected at least 33m shipped for end of 2022 (at least 8 million shipped in Q3)… that means with the actual stock it should be at least around 32m sold-thought.

They said they were stockpiling PS5s during Q2 for GOW launch that's why they sold only 3.3 (exact same from last year).

Makes sense, also would make sense because in order for Dec to have been the biggest ps5 sales of all time it would have had to beat launch month

I was expecting around 32 or 33M, but "more than 30M" it's almost there, shows a great improvement on shipments that if continues and they achieve around 7M in the last quarter of the fiscal year they'll achieve their ambitious target.

It's hard to believe that if they sold around 5M in Q3 having some millions manufactured in the previous quarter they'll be able to ship 7M in a Q4. It would be really rare to see a console selling more in a Q4 than in the Q3 of that year. But well, in this case more that demand it depends on the supply they're capable to achieve.

As I remember they manufactured 3M units that weren't shipped and were saved instead for Q3, I assume to use them for GoWR and CoD bundles in the holidays season.

Now that I have mine, I’m seriously thinking about trading in my PS4 Pro. Apparently GameStop is giving crazy money for them right now.
Really? How much are we talking about? I kept mine around in case the ps5 was ever on the fritz but for the right amount...
