Their last game run at 30fps on consoles.
I guess it will depend on how much rockstar care about the current trend of 60fps being more popular.

Ps3 gen and ps4 gen 30fps was the norm, but having 60fps option this gen is becoming the norm.

But reality is most gamers won't care if it's 30fps , especially the casuals who are gonna be the biggest audience.

I certainly won't care as long as it's stable 30fps.

That is how I see too.

Remember that they profit the most with these separately releases... that is why PC release is always a year late and so with better frame rate and options.
And they can give a patch or a Game of The Year edition on PS6 with better framerate.

They always potencialize double, triple, etc dips.

I'm curious what the porting time is going to be for the PC version. Red Dead Redemption 2 was only like 7 months so hopefully it's sooner than that if not day one.

Framerate has nothing to do with how the game is important or not.
It was never a issue for GTA games being 30fps.

GTA is GTA.

Maybe... depends of how much they drop the quality and resolution.
But I never saw Rockstar doing that.

Their last game run at 30fps on consoles.
They needed a new gen to launch a patch (late 2023) to make it runs in 60fps.

At the very least it will offer an option to unlock the frame rate so that those with VRR displays can take advantage of it.

VRR on PS5 doesn't work with 30fps games even unlocked.
It needs to be running over 48fps all the time to VRR works in the 120Hz mode.

DLSS Quality (1440p to 4k) is fine.
DLSS Performance (1080p to 4k) not.

I still prefer native with good AA implementation but I know DLSS saves a lot of resources... even more in the good AA implementation because most devs uses crap AA (due performance).
Fine is opinion and I'm not saying I disagree.
The same people who were jerking off to DLSS 4k reconstruction are now shitting on PSSR 4k reconstruction.

You don't have to wait til GTA6. GTA6 running at 30 or 60 fps won't prove anything about Digital Foundry that can't be proved today.

Digital Foundry slobbered over the Switch OLED and the Steam Deck OLED despite few if any technical improvements. Their decision to slander the PS5 Pro, especially this early without knowing how effective PSSR and the raytracing features, tells you everything you need to know about them.

i would of thought Cerny would of visited Rockstar and seen what it would take to get 60 fps on the console.

Cerny essentially would have a very limited budget. If you say Oh Hi Mark, you have 100 dollars more than current production costs for the PS5 Pro, he can't simply say okay, for 100 dollars I can get GTA6 running at 60 FPS.

The PS5 Pro is probably a wishlist item for Cerny and surveyed developers both internally and externally that couldn't be put in the PS5 at the time of its launch combined with Sony's investments in AI with iSize and Audeze.

I actually think PSSR will be a bigger deal for the PS6, Cloud, and the PlayStation handheld than it will be for the PS5 Pro.

I think that is why Sony has invested in their own AI upscaling rather than just rely on FSR or even AMD's AI enhancements in the future. Unlike DLSS 3, Sony is suggesting that all games can support PSSR without specific datasets. If that's true, it's major breakthrough for AI upscaling.

This will be a major success for running all games on a PlayStation handheld and running them in the cloud at lower resolutions.

They've never touched a line of code and their experty comes from assembling PC parts and counting pixels on the screen, also using eyes to compares 400 times zoomed-in images.


I wouldn't even trust these guys if my life is not depended on it.

PS5 Pro existing has nothing to do with GTA6.
It exists because they found some part of their fan base wants a better device in the middle of the generation… the experiment was already done with PS4 Pro (without a GTA release).

There is a market for Pro even if small.

But it doesn’t matter if you have a PS5 or PS5 Pro GTA6 will run and sell very well.
