If you mean generation changes or actual hardware degradation, neither is an issue with PS5.
While i see more problems with Steam Deck on that front.
Yes, and if you choose portability, you are compromising on a lot of stuff that PS5 (or a traditional home console) offers: visual fidelity, higher resolution, better frame rates, bigger screen, better controllers, longer gaming sessions, day one PlayStation Studios releases, etc.Is this a parody thread? Can't be serious. If you want portable, go Steam Deck, otherwise PS5 is the most sensible choice on every aspect.
Because a Switch and Vita are inferior to the Steam Deck? Why would I wanna play PC games with potato graphics? For portability I have a Switch and a Vita.
Switch and Vita are in many ways superior.Because a Switch and Vita are inferior to the Steam Deck?
Fair enough.PS5 all the way.
- Better games available on day one. I don't want to wait for 2+ years to play God of War Ragnarok and see all the spoilers beforehand.
If I'm playing a game on the OLED on the SD, the visual fidelity is very good since the screen was made for 800p. Framerates are debatable and can be adjusted. The SD is only rendering to a 800p framebuffer. That cuts down on a LOT of ms when rendering vs. PS5 having to render at 1440p (or less in some cases). That's why I said if you put the SD on a TV screen, it would lose badly to the PS5. BUT if I'm wanting to play the games on the original OLED screen, I'm getting the same experience as the PS5 or better subtract the RT. PS5 still can't do 16x anisotropic filtering while the SD can for example. Remember the games running on the SD don't know what hardware it's on.
- Better visual fidelity, frame rates, ray-tracing, bells, and whistles, etc.
Fair
- Better controller support.
- VR gaming.
If it's plugged in to the power outlet that's a non-issue.
- And I can play for more than 1.5 hours without having to worry about recharging my console.
Size, battery time, actual first party games, exchangeable joycons, even more potato graphics, build quality, better stability ...List them.
So do Steam Deck to PS5... the gap is even bigger than Switch to Steam Deck.Because a Switch and Vita are inferior to the Steam Deck?
Size - subjective. I don't like the flimsy Switch (I have one) and I used to have the VITA. It was as comfortable as the SD.Size, battery time, actual first party games, exchangeable joycons, even more potato graphics, build quality, better stability ...
No, because the Steam Deck is hardly portable, it's noisier, hotter, battery life is a joke and IMO it's just a fun gimmick.Because a Switch and Vita are inferior to the Steam Deck?
So you rank Nintendo games better than any other game out there from all consoles? I find that hard to believe. The SD isn't in it's own ecosystem. You literally can play all games from all platforms including the Switch games via Dolphin emulator. So do Steam Deck to PS5... the gap is even bigger than Switch to Steam Deck.
I should say Switch and Steam Deck are very similar with the same purpose and the Switch is the better machine imo because it has Nintendo games.
SD is noisier, hotter, and short battery life because it has more powerful hardware. Are you saying that the SD should have had less powerful hardware than it does now just because it will run hotter and drain more battery life with the hardware it has? Essentially you are saying developers should stop at the Switch hardware and never try to push for more power because it'll be noisier, hotter and have shortened battery life. No, because the Steam Deck is hardly portable, it's noisier, hotter, battery life is a joke and IMO it's just a fun gimmick.
I take offense to that. I'm not trying to troll or antagonize anyone with this thread.you should read your own sticky lol
I rank Nintendo games better than 99% of games released in the industry... yes... very few games are on the same level or better. So you rank Nintendo games better than any other game out there from all consoles? I find that hard to believe. The SD isn't in it's own ecosystem. You literally can play all games from all platforms including the Switch games via Dolphin emulator.
And so I can play those games on my SD with the Dolphin emulator. So what's better? Playing ALL games or just Nintendo games?I rank Nintendo games better than 99% of games released in the industry... yes.
It is that good.
They are in basically no way superior. What are you talking about?Switch and Vita are in many ways superior.
Emulator breaks any type of comparison. And so I can play those games on my SD with the Dolphin emulator. So what's better? Playing ALL games or just Nintendo games?
Nah. Weak rebuttal.Emulator breaks any type of comparison.
Because you will be playing games not allowed to be played on Steam Deck.
