Checking your country's tax administrators website would give an answer. In Ireland buying crops have zero VAT attached and buying a donut has 13.5% VAT attached. That was a quick Google search.

If you are a customer that isn't your problem to figure out the correct VAT rate. The price you see is the final price (no other hidden costs) and if you dont want to pay it then don't. If you are a business you need to do a bit of research on what you're selling but you should be doing that anyway. VAT isn't rocket science, it helps fund the EU and related projects/grants.

I dont think you understand. The point is that the system is not working correctly in Poland, which often results in higher prices. I dont really care all that much about VAT itself, (maybe besides that It's rate is often high and makes everything much more expensive for me lol) but the issue is that It's not correctly implemented, which results in these stupidly high prices.

For example, confectionery products have a VAT rate of 8%, but wheat products have a VAT rate of 5%. Now, when you are selling a donut, which one is It?

What's so hard for people to understand about the OP? We get these ignoramus takes about how much more expensive it is in other countries without them realising the USA sticker price is before tax for every product.

Xbox series x 2TB is grossly overpriced. PS5 pro is value for money.
