A retail insider has shared pre-order numbers for Machine Games’ upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle revealing that the game has sold 86% less pre-orders compared to Dragon Age: The Veilguard.

You see, dear developers, this is what happens when you develop games exclusively for a dying brand.

Indiana Jones only works as a movie or tv show, A game without a lot of shooting will be boring but an Indy game with shooting is not Indiana Jones. Machine games anyways are a mediocre developer so 90% this is going to flop.

Also a big thing is in the movies and books the puzzles are based on having historical knowledge of events of legends, myths, rumors etc. In games they are generally physics, logic or math based. even uncharted and tomb raider suffers from this.

This franchise has no hype around it, like at all. I’d argue Uncharted as an entire franchise is more relevant now. Is what it is, but this game is gonna flop just like the last movie did.

Out of all franchises…. Why put MG on this one? I think the game will be good but the talent deserved a stronger IP to license.

I thought the IP was a weird choice as well. Like, out of all the mid-tier IP you could get Microsoft chose Indiana Jones?
