They have no reason to do so when most of their market, their executives and development teams are in the west.

What is currently irritating me is that some YouTubers and gamers don't seem to know what's going on there or are spreading fake news. I have no idea how many times I've read that Playstation is buying From Software or that From Software will then develop exclusively for Playstation.
From Software has already worked exclusively with Playstation twice, both are apparently working on a third project and Playstation has already invested in From Software. More importantly, though, it's not about Playstation at all, it's Sony that is negotiating. If the takeover goes through, I'd be surprised if Kadokawa doesn't continue to work independently under Sony. Even if Bungie moves bit by bit to Playstation Studios because of shitty management, I don't think Kadokawa's studios will follow. That would be just as stupid economically as Bungie suddenly making Destiny exclusive to PS. So From Software will certainly continue to work with Bandai Namco, it's just that Sony and Playstation will get parts of the revenue from different pots. The other studios will definitely continue to work with Square Enix and Nintendo. The only thing that changes, in my opinion, is that Sony has first choice when it comes to anime, if it fits into Crunchyroll or there is no lucrative, high offer from Netflix, Disney, etc..
What I don't understand at all are statements that the deal might not go through because a monopoly is being built. I can't really understand that. Even Aniplex works independently under Sony and isn't even obliged to release every game exclusively on Playstation. Sony has bought several companies that supplied everyone with tools and hardware before the purchase, and nothing has changed with the takeover. If the rumors are true that Kadokawa approached Sony because they are afraid of being taken over by another company, then as a fan I would be happy if it is Sony and everything probably stays the same. Sony has close relationships with Kadokawa and Playstation has close relationships with From Software and other Japanese publishers. That reminds me of the takeovers of Insomniac and Housemarque. Both studios wanted to remain independent, but when several publishers expressed interest, both preferred to go to Sony, Insomniac even at a friendly price, in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if Kadokawa chose the lesser of two evils in the form of Sony, because both traditional Japanese companies maintain business relationships.
So far I have hardly seen an article or YouTube video that makes it clear that this is not about Playstation buying From Software, but about Sony considering taking over Kadokawa. Some even act as if the deal is already a done deal. It is not even clear whether Sony wants to take over 100% of Kadokawa or just parts. It is even possible that From Software and other studios will be excluded and become independent again. Such information is logically completely lacking.
