For no rhyme or reason? Hzd sold around 23 million copies in the past 7 yrs. 19 million just on ps4 in 4yrs. Freedom wars has done 300k in 10 yrs. Hzd is one of ps biggest ip and a remaster will make more money than any vita game that's remastered. I'm not sure why u guys don't seem to get that.
99.99% of the PS user base do not care about Freedom Wars, never played Freedom Wars, they didn't even know PS owned the IP but will complain PS shouldn't port it to switch. What is the point of keeping it on PS as a principle? The Vita is a graveyard porting old dead Vita games to PS, pc, and yes, the Switch makes financial sense. Because of the Japanese install base, there is no way to make those ports viable without putting them on the switch. Some of u would rather see an ip stay dead than let sony find a financial viable way to bring it back.
Dude don't be dense, Hzd sold that many copies based on a novel premise of hunting robot dinosaurs with most of the sales being sold at 20$, PS4 gen Sony destroyed the value of their games.
I don't think, they are creatively bankrupt, just that direction which was given by bean counters is not what they are best for.
Its easy to have new games coming out regularly when they only take 2-3yrs to make. Even something as small as astrobot takes 4yes now. Alsobu talking about ps brand power is cooked when the ps5 will probably over take the ps3 by the end of next year. How is the brand power cooked if the ps5 sells more consoles in 5yrs than the ps3 sold in 10yrs? Yeah everyone is going to go get a switch 2 to play freedom wars its not like to biggest game of all time gta6 is releasing next and as far as we know there are no plans to release a switch version. Gta6 alone will sell millions of ps consoles. The switch was an anomaly. Unlikely switch 2 can do its numbers with no covid boost, competition from 1/2 dozen handhelds that do everything better than it can including run Nintendo games, ps likely to make a handheld and Xbox as well. Switch 2 will be unlikely to play current gen triple A games with out being comprised or through cloud because the leaked specs are worse than the series s. They don't have a the Wii u library to lean on and can't just port all those old games over like they did before. It definitely won't be as cheap so most ppl wont be buying multiple switches like with switch 1. 20% of switch households in the U.S owned multiple switches. Byvthevyine switch 2 sells as many ps5s as has currently been sold the ps6 will have been announced. Creatively bankrupt? Dude you are looking back to the past to justify the present whereas I am talking about the future. Xbox sales have tanked in a period of 18 months, The same can happen to playstation too and to think otherwise is delusional. You assume consumers are sheep who will blindly buy the the remasters and remakes.
Modern Sony is a different beast. I suspect they'll keep pivoting and making plenty of mistakes.
