Game development now takes longer and costs more, its like that with all companies. Why do you think GTA6 is taking so long?
That is not my problem, why aren't they investing on more studios to compensate for that? The games are still profitable so just make more of them. MS just spent more than $80B acquiring studios and publishers in the last few years. If Sony thinks it's just business as usual come next gen PS as a console will be destroyed just like Sega was.
If you think MS PR spins, FUD, aggressiveness and willingness to bleed money was high this time wait till they actually believe they have a chance to destroy Sony for good.
CoD, Diablo, Doom, Quake, Crash, TES, Fallout, Minecraft, Warcraft, StarCraft, Overwatch, THPS, etc, MS will leverage all of that when we are about to enter next gen, likely showing CG trailer of games that are years away like they did this time but except with actually successful IPs. MS has done it before, they are fine giving up on a lost gen to attempt to set up future success and their fans seem fine waiting countless years so they can afford to do that again.

I'd give these sony gaas games a try if they weren't coop.
Helldivers 2 looks cool, problem is none of my family and friends play videos games regularly, maybe once a month or every few months they'll play some game and that's it, so these coop games are a no go.
And playing with randoms on coop games can be a shitshow.

Helldivers should have matchmaking. You’d imagine default settings would be pretty easy. Hot damn… just saw that gameplay video from last week. Game looks fun.
I have a different concerned for any hero based game out of fear you’ll have player wait queues for specific classes or character. That kind of stuff is not good imo. Hope this game doesn’t do that.
There first problem is that PS+ needed. Whilst PC play for free. £70 on PS $60 on PC. Not a good look.
Then there's F2P games not behind paywall.
You then tie it to trash PC sector. And they have to worry about the poor performance. So now you have standard haters on console & PC trashing your game. And PS never tidy up PR mess.
These games are also hindered by low end PC's.

lol It got accusations of "fake" ray tracing, of them lying when they said they were loading whole worlds in instantly, people using TITANFALL 2 changing details in a single map as "proof" this was "easily" doable on the PS4, and really bizarre claims from disgruntled writers getting amplified left and right.
And Dreams. Might've survived longer.
I get why they didn't want to, to a point though. Imagine if someone used some "custom" assets in Dreams to make some of those... rather "unsavory" videos that are popular in certain corners of the internet. I don't think they wanted that brand association, so opted to keep it in an environment they could better control.
But man... just sad.
But yeah, Service/MP games literally live and die by maintaining a consistent player count. It makes less sense to NOT drop them on PC too.

It did. It also got the whole $70 for Ratchet Hate. But the others got so much more lol
