Makes sense. It has been a while since the last SoP, and it would fit one to support the launch stuff of the PSVR2 and its launch gemes, or another one to highlight the main games to be released on PS the first half of the year or so, mostly focused on 3rd party stuff.

They need to have a SOP soon. I was hoping for one back in October. Its inevitable that they have one for PSVR2
From what I've heard Spiderman 2 is confirmed for this year. The LOU MP game should be this year as well, there are more to be sure...
Wonder why Sony first party had been so quiet. Didn't want to reveal their hand and look too strong during the ABK fight maybe?
Also, they have PSVR2 this year which is bound to have it's own killer apps as well. This is where Astrobot came from and did it's high Meta. Astro 2 should be in the works.

They've no need to announce games when they have no competition. Sony did something similar after the death of the Dreamcast.
Though with PSVR2 so close and the start of a gaming revolution I'm sure they're all busy readying for launch.

Hmm. I would imagine it’s to help start the push thru summer which are mostly big third party releases like RE4, SF6 and FF16. Could see Silent Hill stuff too.
Genuinely hope that is not the reason, because otherwise the deal can go jump off a cliff. I don't see why it would be a factor, considering those are 1P teams Sony have had for years (if not decades) and are funding internally. They cultivated that talent over a long time of many games, how is that a good excuse for another company to consolidate buying massive 3P publishers?
Anyway, I hope this rumor is true. This might be for games that haven't been revealed yet (Hogwarts doesn't need another SoP considering it's got insanely good preorders, for example), maybe another SF6 look and open beta announcement (I hope they show off Cammy this time and maybe some additional single-player side content), another look at Tekken 8 (less likely, but hopeful), and...yeah, some new game reveals.
They may also time it close to PSVR2's release I suppose, I dunno if it's this month. But happy surprise if so.
