X0X_LEAK, the same guy who was spot-on with Marvel Rivals stuff, just dropped a new leak, apparently Arc System Works is working on a brand new game for Switch 2.

I thought 3rd-party exclusives are dead. Nintendo doesn't seem to think so. 😅
Yet another studio w heavy PS history making a Switch 2 exclusive.

I’ve said it long time ago PS needs to secure studios & ip PS can’t rely on relationship.

Notice Nintendo been making studios w heavy relationship w PS now make exclusive for switch 2 wouldn’t be surprising if Nintendo had a monster hunter, resident evil, final fantasy, dragon quest or a gta spin off exclusive

Just came across this; big if true.

Nintendo's definitely courting notable Japanese 3P for exclusives going forward because they understand, better than anyone, that exclusive games actually do matter. And strong sales of Switch hardware, especially in Japan, helps as well I'm sure.

I'm just curious what IP it could be. AFAIK Nintendo are still with HAL & Bandai-Namco for Smash, so either it's somehow a new exclusive Guilty Gear (which'd be crazy, but not impossible), or just a new IP altogether like Duskbloods from From Software. Gonna be interesting to see what it is.

Definitely fake. At least for this info.

Switch 2 supports UE5.

And snobing EVO in favor for Switch definitely gonna kill the game. Fightning community is on PC and PS.

EVO is platform-agnostic, even if SIE co-own the event now. Either Nintendo works with SIE to get the game in EVO, or Nintendo hold their own tournament league.

Also a small chance it's actually multiplat in some way and the leaker didn't come across that info. But I think if that were the case, they'd of already found the info and reported it in the initial leak.

Also a chance it may not even be a fighting game, i.e could be a side-scrolling action-adventure beat 'em up.

Of course Switch 2 is compatible with UE5.

I'd be surprised if Arc opted for this engine, given how painful the Performance mode on PS5 seems.
We don't have any more information on the Switch 2 version of FF7 Remake, but it's almost certain to be 30fps, even though the game runs on UE4.

But we talk with Arc System when 60fps is the minimum, and other problem like stuttering etc..
You can still doing amazing graphics with Unreal Engine 4 (see Mortal Kombat 1).

Back when Jim Ryan said that Sony wants to focus on "word of mouth" i knew it would go downhill with their strategy from this point.

it doesn't make sense to get the marketing rights to pretend that the game is associated with Playstation while letting the game go to every platform.

The general public is not living under a rock, word of mouth won't help anything and it doesn't matter that you have marketing rights. What really counts for an ecosystem is exclusivity, and exclusivity alone. On this way you have free marketing rights on top.

Nintendo is going all in on exclusivity and there is no sign of them stopping, instead they become even more agressive. On the other side, Sony just sleepwalks through time while throwing their brand identity out the window.

EVO always takes the lead platform among the playerbase. There is no snubbing there. Now, usually that goes Playstation>arcade>other three way behind but its been like that for years unless they specifically sign a deal with someone.

The idea that Evo actually makes or breaks fanbases is a laugh anyway, its the other way around.

Guilty Gear (timed) and GB Fantasy Versus/ Rising were exclusives on (PS) consoles, it's not like Arc System owes something to Sony.
I don't see them doing a Xenoblade or Fire Emblem fighting game but who knows. I expect them to stay with Bandai for Smash and Pokken.

Also Arc System Works absorbed a lot of Cing developers that previously made DS games that's why Nintendo went to them for Another Code recollection. They did the Chase Cold and Jake Hunter visual novels at Arc on 3DS. Would not be surprising if they made a new series for Nintendo or remake of their lineage like Hotel Dusk Room, that would fit to utilise the mouse pointer controls.

Given some additional info, this is probably going to be a smaller game, and likely a beat 'em up. For one it's also coming to Switch 1, it's download-only, and ASW are publishing it themselves directly.

So that rules out it being anything based on a Nintendo IP. It's probably going to be a new IP or something in whatever non-GG/Blazblue IP Arc's published in the past, and likely a beat 'em up. Could be "small" like the Scott Pilgrim one, or more ambitious like Streets of Rage 4.

I'm going off some extra details mentioned in a ResetERA post that also come from the Arc System Works leak (I didn't even know they had a leak. Hopefully personal data isn't compromised :S).
