They didn't bring these franchises to anyone new, they just added it to their own spreadsheets.

Bethesda and Obsidian were always multiplats...going to PlayStation for the first time, what? 😂

It is so obvious this guy has no idea what he's talking about and Phil is feeding him whatever looks good.

No duh.

The Xbox platform has been completely diminish. The moment they started releasing games on PC is the date when consumers lack trust in investing both money & time in a platform/hardware/storefront that would exist in the long run. And now with Xbox games going to PS & Nintendo day 1 likely in the short term Xbox as a console & storefront is dead. Ain’t no console player is going to buy games on the Xbox storefront just like PC players don’t buy games on the windows storefront. Gaming is both an investing in money & time & you need show security/trust for your consumers to spread the word & build the hardware up.

All that capping just for Xbox to close shop. I think long term Xbox storefront will just fuse w Windows & somehow allow digital library to transfer to preserve & sponge the negative pr they would receive if they pulled a Sega especially considering there console has a hard lock drm most of Xbox games don’t even come w disc like I remember halo infinite boxes having digital codes inside instead of disc

Where’s the one guy here that be saying porting to pc is smart. How did releasing games on pc help Xbox? Even revenue & profits shrunk smaller from 2014 to 2020. Only acquisition like Minecraft kept Xbox afloat if that. Hardware, subscriptions, software, revenue/profits, market share have shrunk in size since the decision to release games on PC.

I’m sure they expected Halo 4, 5 & Infinite to sell more then previous Halo but instead it had decreased per each release same goes w Gears & even Xbox live that holder 25+ million subscribers & after the fold w gamepass only equated to a 3-5 million jump

Satya reviewed Redfall and gave it 4/10, XboxEra reviewed Redfall and gave it 8.5/10.

The choice couldn't be easier
I've heard Jez Cordan and Paul Tassi are trustworthy!

I have no idea how long it will take for some people to understand that Xbox is porting more titles. For goodness sake, they've already confirmed 2 new AAA titles for Playstation in the last few months, one Day 1 for PS5, and of course there's more to come. The games have to be ported first, and that will not happen within 2 weeks. Plus, no Halo or FH engine can run on PS, so the engine has to be adapted or made compatible for PS5 first.

It's just funny. For over a year, MS has been open with investors about the fact that Xbox titles are coming for the competition, and many have ignored it. For over a year, Sony has been saying that they are not releasing the big AAA titles on Day 1 for PC and that Playstation is their core business, and many have ignored it. Hulst even told shareholders that ports for PC will come 1 to 2 years after the PS5 launch, depending on the situation, which journalists have also ignored. In the summer, shortly after the Xbox showcase, Spencer even sat down at IGN and clearly stated that the new Doom is not the end of the strategy and that they will release more titles on PS5, fans should get used to it.

And I'm sure that at the beginning of 2025 some "journalists" and fanboys will come along and start to cast doubt on the companies' strategies again. Never ending story.

It's going to be hilarious if Microsoft porting their first party games to Sony/Nintendo platforms actually keeps Xbox alive and well longer than if they would have stayed exclusive.

It will keep Xbox Game Studios alive, the console on the other hand is yet to be seen. I am sure they will try one last time in some manner.

I don't see the console going anywhere. Xbox console will simply be there for those who prefer that platform and eco-system and what it offers to consumers/gamers. As pissed off as I was eight months ago, not only did I not go anywhere, im more into Xbox now than I was before simply because they're going to give me more as a consumer/gamer on their platform and if it means giving up exclusivity, so be it. I'm all for it as what im getting in return surpasses that of exclusivity.

But we'll see. Only time will tell.
