Alan Wake 2 continues to be a talking point amongst gamers, with many excited about the sequel’s release this year. Those fans are about to start buzzing, as Quantum Break star Shawn Ashmore is appearing in the sequel.

Unfortunately, Ashmore will not be reprising his role as Jack Joyce from Quantum Break. Despite also being developed by Remedy, Microsoft owns the rights to the game and is not part of the connected universe.

Currently, Alan Wake 2 only shares the same universe as Control, another acclaimed title from Remedy. This was actually confirmed when DLC for Control explicitly had connections to Alan Wake, though we doubt Jesse Faden will make an appearance in the sequel.

you can tell from the wording that Remedy really hates xbox, and that the old partnerships with xbox really doomed this studio in the past.

Alan Wake was a really poor fit for the Xbox's audience, and we all know phil kept Alan Wake 2 is regulatory hell until Remedy finally managed to wrestle the rights back from Microsoft.

Then Quantum Break was doomed by Xbox One exclusivity.

Now, thankfully after the Sony partnership with Control, it looks like the studio has found its footing. All of a sudden Alan Wake is back, too.

I really wonder why Alan Wake 2 is on Xbox at all. The audience doesn't deserve it after what they've done to these guys in the past.

Alan Wake 2 is an honorary PS5 exclusive.

Quantum Break was awesome. Glad to see Shawn back doing something with Remedy. :giggle:

Alan Wake 2 is best on PC. Like Control and Quantum Break were.

remember it was Quantum break that was such a catastrophic failure in pre-orders that it single handedly started the whole "Xbox will never have exclusives again" Play Anywhere BS where they emergency-announced the game for PC a few weeks before release.

Quantum Break is another IP killed by Microsoft. Wonder if Sony inclusion can bring this one back, like they did with Alan Wake.

Quantum Break 2, PS5 exclusive.
