Can you imagine if Sony just pigeon-holed themselves to only single player games and not catering to the massive multiplayer base. COD is a prime example that Sony needed to seriously expand into multiplayer of their own and not depend on third party for it. And Jim has smartly invested in multiplayer studios as an addition to the mainstay single player studios under Sony. The showcase disappointed me too somewhat but only because I’m allergic to CGI trailers and I expected more first party announcements but don’t worry plenty of AAA single players games are cooking in the kitchen.
