The game is obviously in debugged mode. All we have a screenshot of a leak character customization screen. I'm not against all GaaS like you clearly. Horizon has a lot of potential to transition well into GaaS..I'm sure the final game will look better even with the cartoony aesthetic. I hope it's a success for them too.

At least allow them to debut the game the way they want us to see, before you write it off. I think Guerilla of all Studios has earnt that much good will..

Apparently, talks between the two came to a halt in 2020 when Bungie demanded a price of roughly $2 billion, as well as them retaining their independence even after an acquisition, which collectively was deemed too high of an asking price by the decision makers at Microsoft.

While the chance the CDPR rumour is true is unlikely it's interesting it comes from a Bungie connected source. Maybe CDPR have sounded out Bungie for what thei post acquisition relationship with Sony has been like

It is meant, I believe, in the way of saying that the games seem uninspired, modelled after basic gaas - fairgames could be watchdogs 3 etc. And that CGI reveals after so long a wait (followed by studio closures/game hiatus') doesn't seem like Sony has too much confidence in the games, or worse, they aren't in a showable state.

Let's not play the GAF role of dismissal through claiming concern trolling. Even if raw feelings after a bad "showcase", they're still legit concerns, based on what's happening. IconEra is better than that.

If a first party studio happened to see a great opportunity that fits into what they already do, like Gran Turismo investing in multiplayer and e-Sports or even ND with Factions, sure, go after it. But having GaaS as the main strategy for PlayStation is being stupid (and it's not an exaggeration to say that is the case, they themselves say it and show the numbers to back it up).

There is an obvious reason to why not every publisher have their own Fortnite/Fifa/CoD/GTA/Minecraft/Roblox it's not easy to go against those estabilished games and only complete fools like Hermen and Jimbo would think that they find similar success hat by betting it all in Haven, Firewalk, Deviation, etc.

Sony is going to find success similar to Hyenas, xDefiant, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Destruction All Starts, Halo Infinity or Bleeding Edge instead.

I agree with you on the strategy. And I don’t think something like Haven’s game is gonna work. Firewalk who knows yet with Concord. It could be a huge PVE game in space which would attract me for a bit.

But I feel games like Factions 2 could be more more successful than Halo Infinite, Bleedy Edge and All Stars. I dont think it would be like GTA/COD/Fortnite levels but it could be closer and pull in a decent amount of people in. Especially people like me who need a story/coop in there online games.

Im not sure if its there main strategy. I think they are gonna try A good effort. Smart or not, I don't think so atm with using unknown and B teams to make stuff like All Stars, And the Horizon online game/VR game. Thats not gonna work unless they are lucky.

They will need probably games like Factions 2 and Ghost of Tsushima multiplayer for me to get into it. I need good gameplay 1st for an online game to suck me in, some story and coop to keep me in.

Atm, Spiderman 2, Wolverine, Ronin, Death Stranding 2, plus Stellar Blade aren’t showing they are leaving Single player games. Lets hope more is on the way and more 3rd party exclusives. Plus I need some new genre’s from 1st party team. Yes more singple player 3rd person games, but I also want some 1st Person shooter, WRPG, JRPG and odd unique games.

Where are these kind of games like Shadow of the Colossus, Gravity Rush, Until Dawn And Detroit from 1st Party. I miss these games along with more God of War, ND magic and Ghost of Tsushima and Bloodborne.

Trust me, some games can look like ass about a 3 months out from release And then look completely different on release.

I played builds of great games that were great months before release even as the game was clearly unfinished.

But I feel games like Factions 2 could be more more successful than Halo Infinite, Bleedy Edge and All Stars. Too bad that it looks like it was canceled or delayed to suit Bungie's vision of what a multiplayer should be.

There's a couple of these rumours every month, they can easily just go ignored. Feels to me like the only ones that ever turned out true were also the ones that companies actively came out to deny.

I paid no attention to this rumour, but now with the denials make me think there is more of a chance something is there
