Part of Bloomberg's job is to lie and to throw shit to Sony with made up stuff. Some examples:

Plus multiple things that the Days Gone directors and Michael Mumbauer debunked when being interviewed on David Jaffe'stream.
Sony said that their chips supply are going to improve this fiscal year and that we'll see a big increase on console shipments during the 2nd half of this fiscal year, starting this Q3 (so starting in October aprox) and that they plan that in the next FY PS5 will pass PS4 in launch aligned sales.

Well, I'd bet Bloomberg must hold the record -by far- of website whose lies got officially debunked more times by Sony. They always are wrong painting Sony too bad, never are wrong painting Sony too good. And even when they have to report Sony good news they often try to spin it to add something that makes it look worse or force there MS/Gamepass ads in the text. Even people like Druckmann or Barlog had to call out Jason Shredder on Twittter. Suspicious.
So when I read some bad Sony news coming from Bloomberg I'm always ultra skeptical and consider it a fake news until it gets confirmed or debunked by proper oficial sources.
Most US (well west) news sites are biased to Xbox.
That won’t change and doesn’t matter at all… even with press push Xbox never did strike success.
Xbox was successful in its disruption in the market when Nintendo was figuring themselves out on home console front.
OG XBOX was a good launch for a new system. And first couple 360 years were pretty damn good.
I guess it depends on what you consider success. Being disruptive in the market has its own rewards.

When you account the sales for the whole dvision, only 13.7B of the 30.5B are explained by the total revenue loss, which means there's a delta of 16.8B yen, or 126 million dollars, which are going towards game development.
Sony has about 10 billion $ cash and cash equivalents on hand, which is a decrease of about 3 Billion $. Funny enough, bungies acquisition accounted for 3.7 billion $ per the quarterly financial statements, which means Sony's cash on hand is very healthy in spite of their investments.
What is interesting is people claiming a 2% decrease in revenue in the gaming division is somehow catastrophic, when the digital software and add-on content is 100% responsible for this, meanwhile Microsoft reported a revenue decrease in all of the gaming division.
You know what hardware revenue decrease means as well? That they are selling fewer consoles, whereas Sony is selling more consoles. 100 thousand or so more compared to Q1 21 to be precise.
So please spare me with the doomsday scenario news. There's a gaming division that's suffering, and certainly it's not Sony's. I'd also love for MS to have the balls to have a proper breakdown in dollars for their gaming division, but that wouldn't really help them fuel little console warriors.

That come after I read some market analyst articles that the investors are a bit fearing the New PlayStation Plus revamp... they are unsure how the new service will affect the game sales on the console.
PS++ and PS+++ are some of the wrong decisions Jimbo took imo... most of others decisions I agree with him and it was made to grow PlayStation.

Did people freak out this much during the ps4 era when there were drops every quarter or so? If the past 4 quarters we were seeing Sony going down a downward trend then signal the alarms. But where is this narrative that pc ports are cannibalizing playstation sales coming from?
Well I think PC ports are killing PlayStation.... the games seem less special, the platforms feels less unique, then on top of that they are putting more effort into promoting headphones, PC monitors and PC ports of old games than they do on GOW:R.
There is no outreach, there is no fan interaction, no interviews or people from PS going on podcasts or talking to the community.
We get charged 20 euro more across europe for the same basic versions of games and we get less exclusives now, less unique content and most games have been cross-gen.
It all adds up to a shit-sandwich if you ask me..... people feel deflated, especially in the face of losing things like Bethesda games and soon it could be Activision too.
Meanwhile we are paying through the nose and seeing no benefits apart from Bungie (Which I appreciate) but where is the Square Enix buyout or the From Soft boyout?
With Jimbo it seems to be a lot more take than give..... he hardly does even a showcase now.
If I sound overly critical, sorry but I feel these things need to be said.
PC ports hurt the community, hurt the platform, hurt the energy..... they turn people right off. The last showcase went from an A- / B+ to an F for me after they shoehorned a PC port into the middle of it. It just sucks ass.
It's fine to feel that about pc ports but you really think playstation would of done better this quarter without them? They literally have not been able to meet demand for the system for over a year and a half. Everybody is talking about how third-party sales are down on ps this quarter compared to last year but seem to forget last year had resident evil village, genshin impact, judgment, nier replicant, mass effect remasters, final fantasy vii intergrade, and scarlet nexus release this same quarter in 2021. Unfortunately third and first party wise game releases have been weaker this year compared to last year's q1. Do you think Jim Ryan should of funded third party studios to make more games come out this quarter to offset the loss? That would be a waste of money in my mind. If this holiday sales are worse than 2021 which was weak for sony last year when they got God of War coming out in November then sony needs to panic.
Anyway did you feel the same when playstation was porting its minis games to Android in 2012?
Or how about the thing everybody forgets, in the height of ps4's success sony was already porting some games and even releasing them day and date on pc in 2017/18. They even put ps now on pc back in 2017 and sony music even published some games on the Nintendo switch eShop in 2017/18. But there wasn't much uproar then because the new generation hadn't start for ps5 and people didn't have a reason to attack those things yet since fanboys on Xbox and Nintendo first had to downplay God of War and monster hunter world which was a ps4 exclusive in Japan during that time.
My worry isn't the short term... not in terms of MAU or in terms of profits.
My worry is longterm, has PS hurt itself in the long game by porting, by supporting PC, by not communicating clearly.
If they just ported a few games while stock was impossible to maintain, then that is absolutely understandable. If they keep porting after stock returns to high / normal levels, then I think it is a really risky thing to do....especially with COD possibly under Xbox control in the future.
Of course Jim shouldnt invest in any companies based on one quarters performance.... we see how this turned out badly for KOTOR remake... now a huge waste of money.
They need to just buy the BEST of the BEST to counter Activision / Besthesda in the longterm..... From, Capcom, Square, WB or CDPR
Corner fighting games, corner the highest quality releases... push back in Japan and across europe...dominate everywhere outside the US and isolate the USA.
Bring game prices down to 60-70 euro and be pro customer.
These are the steps.
Yes, it will hurt game sales but they had no choice to adapt PS Now because the streaming requirement crippled the service in a lot of markets. Now they have a much bigger reach with Extra.
PC ports hurt fanboys, that's all there is to it. They have nothing but a positive effect outside of mental anguish they cause for people who have an unhealthy relationship with the console platform.
