There really aren't, its part of the player/union contract negotiations and a big deal for public advertising. As a byproduct, for example, the MLBPA has permanently kept all scabs out of the game, even years after the strike ended. Most of them were no-hopers but one eventually ended up securing a spot on the Yankees roster as an outfielder and was always replaced with a generic guy in the games.
My bad you're right, the players association does own NIL. Regardless, my point was Sony can't make a game without an official license, or it would be bad and sell poorly.
