Sony's future and possible studio/publisher acquisitions

I just noticed that the decrease in investment in traditional games from Sony also includes the cost of porting games to PC, so we can be pretty sure that the investment in traditional games for PlayStation decreased considerably since 2019 and is not going to return to that point anytime soon.

Yep it’s sucks, this will maybe help Microsoft to buy Ubisoft too or something like Embracer with less hurdles. But for Japan the traditional Publisher, they can’t rule shit over there. Japanese pubs are the obligation of Japanese government and JFTC only.

Those are actually some good names, sadly the rumor was sourced from some guys ass. Pearl Abyss and NCsoft are huge. At most its Korea Hero. Which, you know, would be smart.

I think Sony tactics post abk merger is a lot of small investments of important companies in the East to avoid regulatory scrutiny and continue to invest internally in gaas. It’s doesn’t grab headlines or anything but ensures the survival and success of the business. That’s my theory.

I also think ea and Sony are about to get really chummy. I don’t mean acquiring them or anything but maybe stock percentage buys.

I dont see them getting too close with pubs in the west going forward, too much merger risk from bigger tech companies are going to eat up western pubs, no point. EA will get merged in the next 10 years.

This is what I said. Sony will buy single developer studios like Ember Lab, Arrowhead for example.

If they go big, they will try to buy a big gaming company based in Japan and East.

Ubisoft has a bit of a bad reputation now BUT they have lots of great IP's and if they were managed better, they could be making excellent games.

They also have some great stuff like xDefiant on the way soon and AC going back to it's old style is also a good move.

Now imagine another Rainbow Six and a classic Splinter Cell campaign or Ghost Recon / Socom crossover.

but i agree, sony can improve their overall quality.
Ubisoft for that price is a steal. it feels like you are robbing somebody.

i really wish Sony would buy them instead of any japanese developer. because there is a real dunger to lose them. japanese developers are safe. yeah, m$ can make few 3rd party timed exclusives with them. but only because sony lets them. when sony enter the room, m$ disappears.
