Seems like it is a good number for PC similar devices.
It is very tiny for consoles / handheld users... well even Vita sold way more in the same period.
Yeah been saying all year, Valve's production capacity is not particularly good.
They buy parts from web sites you or I could go to and create an account at. True story.

Yeah, I can imagine Gabe picking parts on PC part picket and buying off best buy. True story.
And Gabe's cousin assembles them in his garage. That's why people wait so long for them.
I'm talking Chinese part sites, not Best Buy. Designed for businesses, but I was able to register when I was helping them write scripts to monitor for in stock parts.

That is what the sites like Alibaba is about… you have direct talk with the manufacturer to buy parts in bulks. While the brother site AliExpress is focused in direct consumer sales.
PS. I used Alibaba / AliExpress as an example because they are the biggest/famous ones… not saying Valve is using Alibaba because there are specific sites like Alibaba to PC parts only.

Excellent sales for such a niche product that can only be purchased through Valve's production facilities.
I have no doubt that if SD was sold in stores like NewEgg, BestBuy, Frys, etc.. it would have significantly more sales.
