I don't know who they are, but in case this is true and means there's a going to be something about Motorstorm or Wipeout coming I'm all in!

Edit: I see it's a support/remasters team from UK leaded by people who previously were in Criterion (Burnout games), Sumo Digital (including Team Sonic Racing), Krafton or Roll 7.

Stellar Entertainment worked as support team in Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster, Need for Speed: Unbound, Need for Speed: Remastered, Burnout Paradise: Remastered, Sea of Solitude, Knockout City or Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. So I assume that if they are working with Sony is either as support team or remastering something (a Motorstorm collection would be great).

Let's wake it up! Closing Evolution was stupid. Then not remastering Mod Nation Kart Racers on PS4 and throwing in PlayStation characters... Just mistake after mistake
Isn't ModNation from San diego studio? Evolution's latest releases were MotorStorm RC (which was awful) and Driveclub, which had a lot of issues

Sounds interesting. They need to fill that genre.
Maybe use the GT brand name?
GT open world arcade racer.

Either that or a Twisted Metal game it makes no sense to make a new ip that’s either clashes w GT or even an open world might aswell use GT ip.

And with the success of Twisted Metal show & likely that being expanded to a Twisted Metal anime/animated movie (would be fire) a lower budget, smaller scale, not AAA twisted metal game specifically targeting PS5/PS6 console players n mobile not PC PC players dont play car combat game & where twisted metal could thrive is a sandbox party type car combat game that’s more inline w twisted metal black not a GTA/PUBG clone

LBP needs to make a return but I would imagine a PS Allstars 2 to not just be a platform fighter but also to save cost use the character models n use them for a kart racer having 2 modes targeting 2 fanbase in 1 game.

Imagine grabbing license for PS Allstars 2 just for you to also need the license for a PS Allstars racing I think both concept would be combine atleast if PS was smart to save cost. I think that would also be done by a Japanese studio like arc system work that have experience in fighters n can easily hire Sega sonic team racing devs to join to work on the racing mode. It would be like cod you have singleplayer, multiplayer & battle royale

My comment was about two different things hence there was a period before I mentioned Mod Nation Kart Racers 🤔

Please someone make a modem fzero. I beg you.

(I will also accept a waverace clone)

Thank you

100%. Driveclub was great just a rocky launch. Remake/Remaster/Relaunch of Mod Nation with PS characters is an obvious and cheap thing to do.
Same as Battle All Stars, they have alot more popular characters now. They could easily do a Smash or Powerstone clone too. Theres been some decent smash clones like the anime ones on DS and PS2(memory might be incorrect on platform)

They need more effort and keep themselves exclusive, instead of trying to cater to other markets for a couple million sales

Just checked their site they are recruiting for a triple A arcade racer in UE5.

Worked on Zero Dawn remaster probably positive reference from Nixxes I guess.
Helped Criterion on NFS Unbound, NFS remastered and Burn Out Paradise remastered.

Mainly support/remaster work. I guess with hints of Codemaster potentially shutting down they can recruit former Evolution devs..
Wouldn't mind a revival of Motorstorm

The lead developer of the PS3 version was made by United Front Games, but San Diego was one of the support teams (in their case for the online / servers related part). San Diego later made the PSP version and an updated version for Vita.

Never should've closed Liverpool and Evolution

Firesprite already has many former devs from Evolution, plus SCEE Liverpool Studio, Bizarre Creations and Lucid (plus Supermassive).

At least until now Stellar did support job (mostly remasters), I assume that former Evolution folks would prefer to join Firesprite instead if Stellar continues without being the lead dev in new games. If Stellar is really working with Sony again after Horizon Remaster, pretty likely will be to remaster something.

Driveclub was fantastic. A remaster would be nice since 30fps for a racer is totally unacceptable. But that game had some incredible track design and I loved the competitive aspect of its social system. It’s missed big time.

otherwise I think licensing cars from manufacturers is too expensive and would be dumb as a live service game just because of that…

So… the arcade route. Waverace clones, fzero… something where your creative freedom isn’t limited to lincensing.

Wipeout/fzero clone with no weapons pls.

Unfortunately all those brilliant multiplayer games not taking off on PlayStation 3 was a sign for them to abandon the entire genre for a while decade lol... Only to realize...wait... We actually do need our own multiplayer games, while ceeding the market to their competitors and prepping up multiplayer games, which went on to refuse exclusivity to them in the end lol.

DriveClub was always set to fail by Sony and I will stand by that.
