Would be really disappointing if Ragnarok stuff starts leaking.
Someone at Sony leaked the TLOU video/screenshots, here's the "major security breach"/"security issues". Very likely the person who leaked it was a dev or tester working on that game, who very likely doesn't have access to other games under development. Not any hacker who stole it or something like that.
The only Sony people with access to projects of multiple studios very likely are only higher ups like Hermen Hulst. People who if want to share something about the game instead of leaking it they'd post it in the PS blog, their social media accounts and youtube accounts. And obviously they wouldn't go to offer it to this Xbox Era guy, they'd leak it in any annonymous place.
Just gonna say, I am tired of leakers in general because it's more than evident now that almost all of them have some kind of agenda behind pushing out their leaks, usually against one of the other console brands.
I don't take Nick seriously because he has been wrong multiple times this past year between rumored acquisitions, Banjo-Kazooie & Gears collection remaster, etc. Plus when he was on the podcast talking about the Starfield & RedFall delays he went into a very irrational and fanboyish rant with tons of FUD and seemingly hatred directed at Sony for no reason, it's not like it was Sony's fault those games got delayed but listening to his rant on that podcast you would think it was.
The old adage "shoot the message, not the messenger" doesn't really fly anymore when most of the messengers have their own disingenuous intentions/agendas when they send out these messages (or at the very least, just starved for attention and clout). Listening to them is like listening to the priests during the Dark Ages. No need to give them undeserved power.
It definitely is but we also don't know if there is specific intention behind the Naughty Dog leaks that could be driving people to actively get ahold of stuff from them to push out.
Their security could be the same as Sony's other teams, but if there's someone at or affiliated with ND who's got access, they could just be targeting ND rather than other groups.

Why is Nick in particular being sent ND-related stuff? Doesn't the person sending this to him know about his gaming takes and tendencies, have they not watched any of the podcasts he's on? Nick isn't a neutral source; like most leakers he has a spin on what he puts out for the community to have discourse with.
Again, people really need to watch the Xbox Era podcast where he talks on the Starfield/RedFall delay and see his rant before concluding he is some type of neutral source or tries particularly hard to provide their info (including leaks) neutrally. He doesn't. And that's the problem.
These guys know an absolute ton of people are waiting for GOW Ragnarok and don't want the story spoiled, so why tease you're going to spoil the story, knowing how easy it is for people to accidentally come across spoilers (even when trying to avoid spoilers), knowing how if there's ANYTHING even potentially controversial that bad faith actors will take that and spin false narratives on the game (kind of like what happened with TLOU2), knowing that many of them will definitely jump at the chance to do it because for them it'll be a fun way to "cut the legs off" of Sony's biggest game of the year, etc.
Guys like Nick aren't stupid, they know the environment they're putting these types of leaks into and what ways they're going to be disseminated, yet as long as it's only affecting the other platform, they don't mind spoiling everyone else's fun. Again, it wouldn't be as bad if leaks were just purely on actual stuff in the game and there wasn't a toxic community around it these days, but that isn't the case, so I think leakers should have some consideration and be more responsible with this.
It's not just about getting e-cred and internet clout.
@thicc_girls_are_teh_best I just don't see any indication of Nick or anyone else saying they will leak "spoilers" for anything. I just don't know where you guys are getting that. The TLOU stuff was also completely harmless.. literally the same shit ND released right after.

He was teasing that he has more to say on the game in an upcoming podcast, it's right in the OP :/. Also I wouldn't say the TLOU leak was completely harmless; earlier mentions and expectations (or in some places, narratives) were being set up as if the remake was going to 100% be TLOU2 gameplay.
Some people (myself included) suspected there were going to be some gameplay changes in the form of expanded content, so I get the disappointment in that not being there. But the leaker also clearly said "NO gameplay changes!", and that was factually wrong. They're updating the AI. The workbench from TLOU2 is here. The physics system and environmental impact systems from bullets have been upgraded. Those are gameplay changes; not as drastic as crimson heads or Lisa in RE Remake, for sure, but they're still changes.
So the leaker saying there were no changes at all, was lying.
I'm not a "Sony fan" as in only like Sony stuff; I like Xbox and Nintendo stuff, as well. I also think there are some areas Microsoft and Nintendo are doing quite well in ATM.
But the problem with some of the hardcore Xbox fans, especially the ones with podcasts or journalist connects, is that they're very rabid. Of course there are rabid Sony and Nintendo fans too who are pretty annoying, but IMO it feels worst with Xbox ones because actual Xbox/MS execs associate publicly with some of them. That's a sign of endorsement, they condone that type of stuff by associating with them like that.
Then the wild stuff they put out, spreads like wildfire online, so it gets difficult to ignore it (or its impact) in enthusiasts circles, IMO.
I disagree that they don't affect anything, because their habits rub off on other people who do end up engaging in discussion about gaming. They may not be damaging Sony, but they are damaging the fandom and online discourse on gaming IMO, for those of us who want genuine, honest discussion.
It's not even that they have preferences; some people prefer Xbox, some prefer PlayStation, some prefer Nintendo and some prefer PC. That's cool. But some of the hardcore Xbox fanboys with platforms, just seems like they have a not-so-silent endorsement from MS/Xbox execs directly whereas that isn't the case with the Sony or Nintendo ones, or the PC ones because their platform really doesn't have a single company that owns it like with console.
