May i know your religion

What would my religion, if I have one, have to do with anything? Neither what is going on between Russia and Ukraine or Israel and Gaza have anything to do with religion, so I don’t see how this question is relevant.

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is just that, an invasion, which mind you is full of war crimes and shouldn’t have happened but their stated goal has not been to wipe out all Ukrainians or push them out of their country. They have spread propaganda about Nazis in Ukraine, but as far as I know they haven’t repeatedly denied the existence of Ukraine and its people, and have killed far less civilians. They also haven’t destroyed basically every hospital and school in Ukraine like Israel did in Gaza and haven’t said crazy stuff like that there are “no innocent civilians” in Ukraine, which is something many Israeli leaders have said about Gaza.

Not to mention that Ukraine is being backed by almost the entire western world and is getting armed to the teeth so they can fight Russia off. Meanwhile Israel has been allowed to do whatever the hell it wants and is getting active support from western governments and companies, even though people living in the west are overwhelmingly against what Israel is doing.

I support Ukraine against Russia but if Russia withdraws tomorrow, Ukraine will be fine and livable in most of the country. And if they wanted to get rid of all Ukrainians in Ukraine, many countries would step in to prevent them from doing so and it would cost Russia way too much to achieve that. Rebuilding what was destroyed in Ukraine won’t take that long. The same cannot be said for Gaza.

And guess what, Russia was immediately sanctioned to hell and back by most western governments so the regular Joes didn’t even need to resort to a boycott. Boycotting Israel and companies involved with the Israeli military is the least people can do, especially in this case where you’ll just have to not subscribe to Game Pass and not buy Xbox games (most of which are mid anyway).

Microsoft assist everyone with anything computer based. They helped Israel stop Iranian power plants from making enriched uranium.

To believe they are backing a country to wipe out another one for the reasons of ethnic cleansing is mental. And it's not a genocide.

Ukraine is not a genocide, around 12,000 civilians in Ukraine have been killed of which around 700 were children. The majority of Ukraine is still under Ukrainian control, standing and livable.

I respect the humble reply, we're human, we make mistakes and it takes a big man to own it.

It is a shit world that we live in and big companies like Microsoft, Amazon and apple, exploit all of us just to...use their power to punish us. It's mad.

Where are you getting these “low estimates” from? Numbers from this war are all over the place as both Russia and Ukraine are downplaying their own casualties while exaggerating those of their enemy, but 400k seems a very high estimate. Is that an estimate for casualties? Because those include wounded and injured. Most estimates I’ve seen put deaths below 200k, and that’s including soldiers and civilians from both sides (although they note that the actual number is likely higher).

The overwhelming majority of those deaths are soldiers though, not civilians and definitely not a lot of children (relatively speaking).

In Gaza on the other hand more than half of those killed are women and children, so even if you want to be extremely disingenuous and count every adult man as a Hamas fighter (which is obviously not the case), they’re still killing more civilians than fighters while in Ukraine civilian deaths are below 20% of total deaths. And again, besides deaths, Ukraine hasn’t been leveled to the ground and will be largely livable if the war were to stop tomorrow. Gaza on the other hand has been completely demolished and is unlivable, which will cause many more thousands of deaths later down the road.

For all of Russia’s crimes and warmongering, it has never suggested that it wants to see Ukraine emptied of Ukrainians nor have they denied the existence of a Ukrainian state or the Ukrainian people. It wants Ukraine to be completely disarmed, annex parts of it and would probably love to have a puppet ruler installed. Which is bad but nowhere near as bad as what Israel is trying to do to Gaza (and the West Bank). Israel pretty much wants Gaza ethnically cleansed by having its population either dead or turned into refugees that will be scattered across the world with no right to ever return. In recent months they’ve constantly been calling for other countries to take in Gazans who want to leave “voluntarily” (after their families have been butchered and their homes demolished with no hope of a return to normal live within a decade).

That’s why people are calling one a genocide but not the other. Nazi Germany invading and occupying France was not a genocide, but their extermination of Jews, Roma, and others was. Keep in mind, the whole event that the term genocide was invented for in the first place was the Armenian genocide, where you similarly had the Ottoman Empire ethnically cleansing Armenians from their empire primarily through forced displacement. Israel is basically trying to do that to Gaza now.

Either way, whether you want to call it a genocide or not doesn’t change the fact that they’re slaughtering thousands of children and other innocent civilians for nearly two years straight. Giving up Xbox products was already easy before this because they sucked, now people can take the moral high ground by doing so.
