Im not spoiling for a huge argument or anything, but this whole condense to one thead mindset still... bothers me. Let me get paid and run a social experiment. Let me IE Extra a few banned people. Confine all Sony Doom and DEI news and discussion togehter to a specific subforum, and see if this sparks other discussion normally. But disable the report button for that subforum, and let people collapse it away or put it on ignore all threads?
Because I think this is just the intersection of business harm and influence/in-touchness discussion reaches, when news of business blunders happen. Either side Wil be upset? Is this the crux of the (gaming) culture war I half pay attention to?

I still also think structured team debate threads might be fun? Vote on the weekend debate, have group messages to collate source material to backup points and counter arguments? Is it something that Jaffe or any other industry players we have here can either provide knowledge towards a side, or be an impartial moderator for? Please tell so called enthusiast forum that the game news on the UI is not new or part of any update. It’s always been there.
It’s that when Sony added the resume activity with background art it replaced the game news.
People complained about activity art taking over the game art so they changed it to only in progress activities show up only. Not recommended which was always there. Story progress activities still operate as normal.
It was never used so that’s also why Sony removed the resume activity. I like it and the way it made the UI feel active and social. Can’t please everybody.
Here is the the the UI from last year before the resume activity feature was added
News from the game was always there. It was sort of removed when the resume activity feature was added and you had to scroll down to see all news from the game. With resume activity now changed the news information has been bumped back up to the main game page.
People should maybe stop complaining about things since when Sony does change something it brings back what people originally didn’t like. Like PS4 games showing up as a separate icon when before it was embedded in the menus and you had to choose which version you wanted, PS5 or PS4.

Right. And now that the activity feature and art is not there, which was a complaint because people love to be bothered by any little thing, the news feed on some games end up on the UI.
Everything is server side. Since there’s no more activities to update the UI with, game news has taken that place.
Can Sony go back to the default game art? Sure, but the news feed is not new.
I liked how resume activity worked. Even though i never used it, the UI felt active and I liked knowing where I was in a game with the accompanying background art to go with it. People actually complained about seeing activity backgrounds instead of the default art. The normal art was still there, it depended on how long you were not playing the game then it change back.
Turning off the internet disables everything and you get the game art.
Grummz is an idiot but he isn’t fully wrong. Any political stuff should be excluded from any game. As long Sony has their HQ in the USA, this political bullshit will continue to appear in PlayStation games. Only when moves their HQ back to Japan, only then PlayStation and the Gaming-industry will heal.
These ads never appeared for me before. I only had ads on our Explore tab at the time. And never was the resolution this bad.
Maybe there is a bug in the system. It's even telling people that own these games on disc, to download the game now on PS Plus when they hover over the icon.
