No.Question for the illiterate in me - Will a regular TV (not a VRR ready 120fps TV) support 40 fps fine?
Makes no sense to use 40fps on a fixed 60hz screen.

Native... likely never.Question for the illiterate in me - Will a regular TV (not a VRR ready 120fps TV) support 40 fps fine?
120 hz TV is the key , VRR is good if framerate is variable/fluctuating all the timeQuestion for the illiterate in me - Will a regular TV (not a VRR ready 120fps TV) support 40 fps fine?
40fps ain't never going to be a thing for games that don't already have a 60fps mode. You'll get the option of the much superior 60fps mode on your TV anyway.Anyway I think we're diverging from the topic at hand, @ethomaz if you want to open a topic on your takes on the performance subject we could discuss there.
Thanks. I thought so too, but never even checked the tech. I'll have to hold on a new TV, mine is perfectly good and again, 30fps doesn't bother me the slightest.

40fps is superior to both 60fps and 30fps modes because it combines the best of both worlds.40fps ain't never going to be a thing for games that don't already have a 60fps mode. You'll get the option of the much superior 60fps mode on your TV anyway.
I still have to try a 40fps game... the games I have that received patch late I had already played.Higher is better, yes, but the drama over 30fps is niche. Fps whores are niche. Most people don’t know, care or see any difference com 30 to 60fps and I myself can’t see the difference going higher than 60fps, I can barely see the difference between the new 40fps and 60fps modes.
And the motion sickness arguments are pure BS.
Miles morales was a very smooth experience at 40fps and the eye candy was just the icing on the cake. I’m debating whether to wait or not for the inevitable 40fps mode on RagnarokI still have to try a 40fps game... the games I have that received patch late I had already played.
After play GoW I may never wait... it was just so great.Miles morales was a very smooth experience at 40fps and the eye candy was just the icing on the cake. I’m debating whether to wait or not for the inevitable 40fps mode on Ragnarok
There's too large of a push on these systems for unrealistic resolutions and graphical settings which provide minute differences but cut your frame rate in half.
The other thing too is that FSR 2.0 is available on these consoles now and yet the only place that it's being used is on PC. It doesn't make any sense.I can agree with this. I'd rather have games at 1440p upscaled and 60fps than native 4k at 30fps, for example.

Anything lower than around 1800p in a 4k TV won't look good imo.
For 1080p TVs 1440p is great.

Yes, some games are definitely more enjoyable at higher framerates, like FPS, Racing and Beat-em-up, but I have personally never met IRL someone that claimed that 30fps destroy their experience and that they refuse to run games with that framerate
Anything lower than around 1800p in a 4k TV won't look good imo... it start to become blurry plus the bad upscaling techs and temporal AA makes the things wrost.
