The Last of Us Remake Part 1 New Leaked Footage

For me personally, the one thing I would want them to fix is the AI, I was never the biggest fan of the original, i did think it was a badgood game but nowhere near the 10/10 people went on about. I did like the expansion a lot and that was fantastic.

So yer, the AI in the game as far as I was concerned was horrendous. If they can make that smarter, instead of enemies running to within a meter of me then retreating to go and hide behind a desk 10 meters away that would be a great start.

I will say though, 70 bucks is a big no-no to me for this title, feels all most disrespectful to its fan base.

How many times have some people bought this title, they should be rewarding loyalty not trying to cash in on it.

Give people that already own the game 20/30 bucks off, it's not like they can not afford it.

Another thing i noticed from the leaks video is it looks seriously washed out, i hope that's just the capture or something that has done it.

We've reached a point where if something changes, it's seen as bad (updated design on Tess to make her more like the actual real life person that did mocap), and if something doesn't change, it's also seen as bad. The goalpost to cry about Naughty Dog games (and sony games overall) keeps moving.

first of all, Demon's Souls aren't Bluepoint game, tlou is ND game. so they have all the power to change and upgrade the game because they have all the knowledge.

you can't say it if you do is bad and if you don't is bad. you have to look at it as game by game basis. that's how i look at it. Demon's Souls kept tick by tick gameplay movement 1:1, but they updated animations and add some quality of life improvements. whole genre until Sekiro kept the same core gameplay, even Elden Ring share most of it's core. you can't ask for them to implement new gameplay core, it is unrealistic.

tlou on the other hand, had the chance to upgrade, they have knowledge, manpower and technology (tlou 2) to do it. especially when they said themself it is not a cash grab, so you automatically set the expectations.

you forgot to include Demon's Souls Sound design to the list, it is basically have to be a gold standard in gaming. sound set the mood, immersion and feel to the whole game. it is amazing.

and i was comparing game vs game as a whole, and it looks like it wipes the floor. let see if it will be the same case after release.

As for this leak I always knew it was real. The person had no reason to leak stuff & then lie. That is backward. And people getting mad about a 9-year-old remaster leak is dumb. New factions sure. But not a remaster lol. Overall not surprised. They have to separate 1st game from the 2nd. So it cant get all the perks of 2nd game.

At this point, the leaks are not from joe bloggs. It's got to be from ND themselves. It's always their games. I don't know what's more worrying people fully believing PR speech & corporations. Capping and co-signing shady marketing practices. Truth always comes to light. It's a cash grab. It was suspicious when they didn't show footage. It should have had footage since it's an old game that has been spoiled already. That was a red flag.

TV show or not. They need to move on to new stuff asap. They are stuck on this game for far too long. Move on make something else.

And what determines a cashgrab? They rebuilt the game from the ground up in a new engine, updated all the graphics, added plenty of QoL improvements...

From the way the person sucks at playing the game and is playing it on easy mode, I sincerely doubt it's a ND employee. Could be a 3rd party contractor.

What truth? They never claimed it would have TLOU II gameplay, for example. Per their own post and the leaked gameplay, they lied in absolutely ZERO items:

Thats true but thats also the biggest thing they could have improved. And what a lot of people myself included were looking forward to. All those additions are nice but put onto of the same basic gameplay of the original just doesn't mean much. Theres also the issue of the price,which I was fine with when I thought the gameplay improvements from Part 2 were making it in. Not so much anymore. Doesn't really matter since it will go down and probably people will pick it up later.

I am reserving judgement. I haven't written it off just yet but if its what the leaks have shown (mostly a graphics update with the same gameplay and animations) I will not be picking it up. The controls and footage from that leak don't show any of the mechanics from 2.

i am talking about sound design, not dialogue/ soundtrack. it is sounds when you walking, what sounds come from world, from projectiles, directional sounds, magic sounds, beast sounds and etc.. for.exp. when i got to the jail level, i was shitting my pants, sound alone set huge mood and it was immersive as f.

that's why i was specific in my wording in my initial comment about comparison.

REmake 2 and FFVII7R are remakes.
TLOU PS5 until now imo is a remaster... actually a remaster of remaster

They did not show anything until now that feels like a remake.
But hey the ideia of Demon's Souls being a remake is not of my like too... maybe that is the issue with what I see as remake and remaster.

And I don't think they remade the game from the ground... the evidences shows they are using all the old game code... it just running in the TLOU2 engine (that is just a upgrade over the TLOU engine... both games uses the same NG engine)... that is what is generating the artifacts and issues with graphics.
The graphics are not being remade... it is the same code running on a new version of the engine...

Think like you get the UE4 project and start to run it in the UE5 that is what they did.
And it is fine... all developers do that.
It is just not remake... I mean a new game code.

• Adds jump functionality - could imply some changes to level design, even if minimal

• Faster load times
• HUD / UI Changes

Demon's Souls

• Animations - updated but feel similar to the original, just like TLOU PT I
• Re-Recorded Dialogue / Soundtrack

Somehow the latter wipes the floor with the former, even though nobody has played the former and has only watched a couple of 2.5min videos.

Incredible how people set themselves false expectations and then cry online.

On a personal note, I am disappointed by the lack of prone and dodge, but those expectations were set on me by myself, and never did naughty dog claim they would be included. I also feel prone could require some more fundamental level design changes, which people would then proceed to bitch about because it's not the same.

The only difference is thst Demon's Souls needed a remake because original looks like PS2 game. TLOU 1 already looks great ( as good as dome current gen games). A remake of TLOU needed a huge change to meet expectations.
