Leaks wouldn't be as sought-after if they'd be open and show gameplay from the beginning...before charging money.

No, its because players can't understand that work in progress games don't look like final games and that games change during development, during which they get constantly iterated.
Can't understand that bugs get fixed, that placeholder art or effects will be changed by final ones, that art, mechanics, features and so on -everything- gets constantly tweaked and changed during development, that choppy framerate gets optimized and that many times things get changed, cut or downgraded because something caused bugs or performance issues and the only way to solve it (at least with the available time/budget) was to cut it.
But in this specific case it's true that it's weird that having the game in gold status they still have to show gameplay screenshots and videos. Maybe it's because they can't stop making last minute changes, tweaks, optimizations and bugfixes for the day one patch and there's something relatively "big" under development that may the game look better and they are waiting to have it ready. And then after that goes all the paperwork. So probably the assets are ready but are passing the needed paperwork before they can released.
Or maybe they strategically saved it for another moment to don't overshadow something else (as it could be this week, the Stray release or something like that).
I think it's probable that Naughty Dog release a statement tomorrow
Think some people upset that it’s coming to pc soon, other think cash grab becuase of the show and some more upset becuase it’s costs more then the last remaster with less content.
Haven’t played it since ps3 days, hope the gameplay still holds up.
It's all BS like the GOW announcement. They were "not ready" on Friday but then the game was announced the week after the long weekend. Literally 2 working days later. ESRB gave them the okay I guess

The new tess does look older but 70 years old?More than 70% of them look at least 10 years younger than the remake Tess. Some of them look good for their age like her

there are many attractive celebrities in their 40s, but if I posted them you are going to say omg did you expect to look like that in a post apocalypse world, because yeah being in a post apocalypse world, is suddenly going to change your features, right!! It's not like you even were in one or experienced it to be talking about that lol.
Tess is not average she is an attractive lady in her late 30s-early 40s, those girls you linekd will not look as good as Tess even if they were 20.
the current Tess looks too fucking old to be a badass smuggler who can take down enemies and get into gun fights with them. It feels like she is about to break any second.
It's obvious that naughty dog is against attractive ladies because to them that objectifies women and fans will blindly defend it lol.

Are you literally forgetting that Nintendo took down mvg's video in mid 2019 for just bring up that ther was a switch hacking scene. (He didn't talk about what you can do with a hacked switch, or how you actually hack one, he just mentioned in a video there was a hacking scene working on switch homebrew.) And took down his video and claimed it because of splatoon 2 footage which im not even sure he had any in his video.
Naughty dog is not the only gaming company to do stuff like that like you claim.
Also why do you keep pushing this agenda that tlou2 under performed to part 1? We found out the the last of us sold 17 million on ps3 and ps4 by April of 2018 two months before the 5 year anniversary of the game. We won't know if it underpreformed until April 2025 and weather or not tlou 2 sold 17 million by that point or not?
