This is why Xbox is the way it is. They focus on bs like this instead of competent gaming.

Real question s, what colors of gamepads they re going to release this month?
Doesn't Playstation have a tv show its developers are being distracted by right now?
After focusing on games for more than a decade, they have earned a little distraction every now and then.
What Xbox is doing, trying to build a gaming brand from the top to the bottom, by focusing on merchandise first, is ridiculous.
Xbox has been an established brand for 20 years. If anything, their "beyond a game system" brand is way more established than Playstation's. Anyone can be a PS owner, Xbox ownership has cultural stereotypes associated with it.

And Playstation has been an estabilished brand since the mid 90s, much longer than Xbox.
Microsoft has just been trying to emulate Playstation presence in pop culture after the fact.
The two brands have very different cultural presences. And at this point we're talking 28 years for PS vs 20 for Xbox, its not exactly an overwhelming timeframe anymore. I don't know why people call Xbox the new guy anymore, they really aren't.

Recently, PlayStation has taken on more of the attributes of a luxury brand. A PS5 is seen as a status symbol.
This probably sounds console-warish but it's absolutely true. The disparity in actual brand perception is huge.
