Dude, no way this 40h rumour is true. Horizon FW had less to tell and the game was way bigger than 40h. Even the first GOW was more than 40h including Side content.

Horizon FW story is round 28,5h.
this one is 20h minus 3,5h cinematics. (this estimate is not from gamers so it tends to be sorter)

This sounds like the perfect amount of time. Anything longer would be repetitive like you said. I have yet to finish death stranding for this same reason.

Witcher has nothing to do with it. I loved Witcher 3 and spent an easy 150 hours plus across all expansions.

Different game. You want to live in that world as much as possible and interact with its towns and characters and subplots.

God of War is completely action driven. It’s longevity and replaybility should come from its combat and bigger challenges for the player. It’s not about questing or even exploration so much.

The dollars you spend do not equal hours played.

Yeah but how many people gave up on Cyberpunk early on? Witcher wasn't exactly bug free, but nowhere to the extent of Cyberpunk.

I just think with the sheer number of releases nowadays, and given that attention spans are probably shorter than they've ever been, I'd say 20 - 30 hours as the ideal, but that's just me.

That sounds like the max length of plague tale is 18 hours, where as the minimum for god of war is 20 without any optional story or side content. Also, plagues tale probably cost a fraction to develop so im not sure how they’re comparable.

God of war is bigger in both budget and scope. Most people will be getting 30+ hours out of Ragnarok even if they don’t try and do 100%

Have you played Plague Tale? It’s also heavy on cinematics and “slow walking” scenes…its basically praised for the fact that its a indie game that mimics the feels of Last of Us. I assume even 15-18 hours is gonna feel like a slog for that game considering the first one was 10 hours and felt way longer by the end. That game is way more on rails than god of war is also.

Half of Plague tale are puzzles, even the stealth and action feels more like puzzles

Hmmm very disappointing to hear.
I was hoping the Sequel would have a longer story than GOW 2018. Shame because Cory mentioned it might be bigger and longer than the 1st game.
20 hours in a must play day 1 game, is like a 2-4 day adventure for me, so quite disappointing for me. I was hoping to sink my teeth into it for longer

But if it was any longer Im sure reviewers were gonna shit all over the game saying its too long… them shills have to make there excuses for their review scores
