"73% of Resident Evil 4's boxed sales were on PS5, 14% on the Xbox consoles, and 13% on PS4. These splits will likely not be as extreme when the digital data comes in, as Xbox tends to have a stronger digital share vs physical."

3:1 ratio is an EXTREME

That is an interesting set of numbers regardless. If SF6 has similar platform trends, overall PS should account for 66% of sales in the UK and at best Xbox 19 - 20%.

Which is exactly what I ended up getting after doing this calculation replaying to feynoob on GAF:

Okay then, let's try this. Assuming the amount is 20K physical for all, PS5 therefore got 15.8K of those sales, Xbox Series got 2.6K, and PS4 got 1.6K.

Let us suppose we take some people at their word, that ~ 90% of Xbox users buy digital. That would mean digitally Xbox saw another 23.4K copies of SF6 sold in the UK. Let's just take Sony's latest report that 70% of PS sales are digital (it was in one of their previous fiscal reports). That means on PS5 they sold another 110.6K copies digitally, and on PS4, another 11.2K copies digitally.

That would bring XBS totals (theoretically) up to 26K copies digital + physical, and 126.4K copies digital + physical for PS5. 12.8K digital + physical for PS4. That is still very close to the 80/20 split we see from the physical-only SF6 results in the UK.

And that was going with the assumption 90% of Xbox sales are digital, and ignores the GFK report (which TBF is still valid, just keeping in mind tons of games come out on PC that are not released on console, hence why they could make up 45% of total digital software sales annually).

In other words it's statistically impossible for Xbox make up more than 20% of total SF6 sales in the UK in a best-case scenario. But people on Twitter and Reset are gonna keep coping and clinging to feelings instead of data working with best probabilities, as usual.

How does 70% digital split mean 15.8K physical sales and 110.6k digital? It should lead to 36.9K digital ps5, 3.7k digital PS4 = total 58k Playstation sales, vs 26k total xbox sales.

more than 1 million in 6 days

for comparison SFV was 1.4 million in 6 weeks
They originally announced in social media the 1 million back in June 5 morning, meaning that it was sold in the 3 days of the launch weekend:

For some reason the press release wasn't published until today.

It's still too early, but Steam has 7126 reviews, which doing the "x25" method gives around 178K Steam sales. In Street Fighter V the PS numbers were around 5 times the Steam ones, so PS would be around 891K. So a total of around 1M.

If this PS vs XB 6.7:1 difference of UK applies to the rest of the world (I assume won't be the case) then XB would have sold 133K. It would be a tota around 1.1M as of now, maybe slightly higher if it's being sold in other PC stores other than Steam.
