This week in the UK retail charts, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been pushed into second place number one, proving an ongoing success two weeks on from release, but it's no match for Astro Bot, which is back on top.

Astro Bot is struggling to stay on top on the PS Store, but there is a good chance it is doing better with physical retail than these other games, especially annual releases and F2P games that don't have physical copies.

This game is likely going to overperform even the more bullish sales estimates quite well. Great to see; SIE need more whimsical games/platformers and more AA like Astro Bot from their internal studios. They should probably mandate all internal 1P non-GAAS studios (so excluding SSD & Bungie for example) start working on 1 traditional AAA and 1 traditional AA game simultaneously.

Studios like Naughty Dog should be able to get out at least 1 new AAA a gen and 2 new AA a gen plus a AA-sized expansion for their AAA game, per gen. No reason why some of these studios have yet to put out a new game so far this generation. It's getting ridiculous.

Still doing decent in the uk store, at number 6 in the best selling chart.

You have games like FIFA, blops 6 and Fortnite ahead of it, which is expected those games are just too popular.

I did and was adding more context you buffoon.

You didn't though...

It's not just that these games are "too popular" but that they're more likely to be purchased digitally, either because they're only available digitally, or because they release annually and the consumers aren't buying a disc for each year that releases.

Astro Bot is doing better than these games in the physical space, which is why it returned to #1 overall for the week.

Two of the three games you mentioned aren't even out yet. You didn't add any detail whatsoever here.

Yes I did which showed your statement it's struggling to stay on top is not really as bad as your making it.

If you read... you'd see I didn't describe it as bad at all... Jesus christ... reading comprehension has plummeted these days.

Lol you said it was struggling to stay on top. Being beat out by those annuals popular franchises is expected.

You still can't read... it's struggling to stay on top DIGITALLY.

D I G I T A L L Y

It's still the top game combined with physical releases, which is why it is #1 for the week.

When EA FC and CoD release in the weeks and months to come Astro Bot will fall, not just because they're popular, but because of the nature of the game and the time of the release.

If it wins GOTY it'll get another boost, but regardless should have strong legs, especially at lower price points.
