When eight friends return to the isolated lodge where two of their group vanished a year prior, fear tightens its icy grip, and their mountain retreat descends into a nightmare with no escape. Face your fears and determine who survives Until Dawn in this seminal horror classic rebuilt and enhanced for PS5® consoles and PC. Coming Fall 2024.

Does it not feel a bit redundant when PS4 games get new releases on PS5 when you can already play them? Enhancements are cool and all, like this is fine, it's just
Feels less impact full
I guess if Atlus can get away with it between the ds and 3ds so can Sony though

I liked the original, but why isn't this a PS5 patch?

Because they want to release it on PC as well. It'll sell better as a modern game than as a port of a 9 year old game.

They also have the movie coming out which could really push sales.

I don't understand how people still aren't coming to terms with Sony's strategy here.

They moved from Decima on the original to UE5 for this one, which was strange in itself. On the visual front expected a bit more tbh, but seems like they are gonna let Ballistic Moon do the sequel and earn some revenue with this.

Technically LoU remake was on launch but got delayed for 3 weeks (with it's disastrous launch on PC)

Literally who was asking for this? Unless they are gonna do a follow up this makes no sense. Should have spent money re-courting David Cage.

And I guess they'll be removing the PS4 game from PS+ In July?

As I remember in the past they said they were going to change stuff and expand it, but they didn't mention anything about it here. I'd like to see them detailing the changes vs the original.

Near year old remaster of a game that works perfectly fine on a PS4.
Why not not upgrade to PS5, stick with PS4 and save yourself seventy quid?
Sony r dum

I wonder if it even looks better in the end and by how much.

Judging by the trailer, and other remasters, it will look worse somehow with better hardware and not worth the £70 price tag when the OG version is currently free.

It's not that strange. They're a small start up studio. Trying to make games for the first time and recruiting talent who has experience with Unreal to do it and an effective and timely manner.

If the game does moderately well, Sony may give them a new project and they could even start to more aggressively recruit people who work at or were laid off from supermassive.

I’m all for this. I have always have been a fan of classic adventure/point and click games, since Indiana Jones on Atari ST, up until the recent Nancy Drew game that released a few weeks ago.
I bought Until Dawn launch day, so definitely getting this PS5 version Day 1.

Wait, so Sony is going to ask people to double-dip on this game, instead of just offering the PS5 upgrade for free?
